Would the acetone in abs glue melt or stick to a lexan body?

Just imagining making organic looking exocages by pouring the black plumbers abs glue over a body.

Or trying to coat the inside to make a Hardbody.

You could test this on some lexan scraps.

My guess is it will likely melt.

Is the ABS glue similar to the MEK that we use on hardbodies?

Abs glue is like acetone or mek mixed with abs bits that have fully melted into a solution. So it dries solid after the mec or acetone evaporates.

I have an old tube of mek I got from a swamp cooler install.

Mek is similar but it dosent dissolve as wide of a range of plastic and dries slower.

Using some scrap pieces, might I suggest giving Plastic Weld a try. Test ABS to ABS, ABS to Lexan, and Lexan to Lexan. The only "downside" is that Plastic Weld is black, but should have an incredibly-strong bond.

I've used 50/50 water/acetone to try and remove paint from Lexan - it didn't melt it but it did turn it so brittle that it shattered.
