Default Hard Body and Liquid Mask

Has anyone used liquid mask on a hard body? If so, other than putting for or five coats on, what precautions should be taken?

Not sure why you'd need to put 4-5 coats on. I started using liquid masking approx 30 years ago (I've used it when airbrushing things), and I've only done 2-3 layers.

Whenever I use liquid mask on lexan I use 4 - 5 coats, makes it easier to get the mask off. I was just wondering if there are any particular "do" or "don'ts" of using liquid mask on ABS bodies.

I've used liquid mask for my Isuzu CC01 without problem, but not direct application though, the body was painted first then masked where I didn't want clearcoat.

Yes I do and like it a lot, was not real sure at first. Getting crisp edges, you want to try to flow it on.

Does not act like paint, it wants to slip around more.

For instance, start to lay down a strip say 1/8" moving along you notice a hollow area. Keep moving, allow that area to set up/dry some then go back and fill.

Anyway it is a good worthwhile product, jump in and start using it, no words can help more then just doing it.

As mentioned find something to use it on,. Get the feel before attempting the model

Also use it with acrylics, bottle says works best with water base . I found no down side using it with acrylic paint.

Myself, good new discovery this product, so many uses., have 2 parts to glue and paint, mask off the area to be glued, and paint. Plastic too plastic, stronger bond

pep
