Looks like this kit is finally about to be released. They are taking pre-orders now... Max Speed Technology-NEWS

Anyone brave enough to pre-order one?

I may have. More of a weak than brave moment.
Looks like it had the jp1 tool box for a minute.

Battery in a different spot here. Wheels are different than the last pic. I believe these are early designs.

It's driving me nuts that I want the body so much I'm on the tipping point of ordering the whole damn kit...

I REALLY don't need another crawler, at least right now - got a handful of projects already.

Then again, I haven't bought one in about 6 months!

It’s super-cool looking. The hinge system is a bonus. What is the quality of MST plastics and their rigs in general? Aftermarket is non-existent up here, though they apparently have a distributor in Canada. Anyone have a clue what wheelbase this one is?

This is very tempting

I can’t speak to the strength of anything but the bodies, my JP1 body is thicker than axial, traxxas, or proline bodies. I am having an issue with paint adhering in the corners and crevices, I thought I cleaned it thoroughly, so I’m inclined to think not mold release but I could be wrong.

Their plastics are solid.

I have the MST CMX and the plastics are solid. Overall they are high quality rigs. MST is known for innovation and quality in the drift segment.

I took out a spring per shock to get it to sit a little lower. They will be replaced later. The kit and manual are very good.

They need short servos. Kit comes with spacers to get a standard case servo to fit in front of the links.

Nice!

How does the front axle look in relation to the wheelwell/fender? its supposed to be a pushed forward of center.

Something similar to this:

I'm just curious because Proline got this so wrong on their TRX4 body.

And how does the width look? I know most folks want to plop this body down on something closer to an Axial SCX10 sized rig.

Neat huh Humboldt? Is that a Gelande 2 there? Not on yet but it looks like it’s going to be close to centered but just forward on the fender. After you said that I had to go look at my 1:1 fj40 pics. You are correct with the axle, it is supposed to be forward of center. Another thing, they want you to cut the whole lower vent off the front apron so it sits low enough. I don’t wanna!

Width is 6 3/4” at the back of the tub. 6” at the fire wall. Fender to fender widest point is 7”
Length is 10” from tub to apron.
Cab is 5 3/4” tall.

I have an old proline bushwhacker cruiser body for savage t/e2.5-maxx that is just a little bigger than the mst body. MST pattern makers knocks proline’s D in the dirt. MST has very small mold release imperfections near the windshield hinges. Good lexan thickness through out. I don’t like the front body mount hood pin location though.

Thats an RC4WD body on a GCM racing CMAX chassis.

If you dont want to cut off the bottom of the front apron you could cut the chassis rails back a bit and fab up a new front bumper or front bumper mount that lowers it. Though thats a pretty big deviation from the build so I dont know if thats worth it. I honestly just noticed this now, with all the old renderings I didn't pick up on this at all.

Thanks for taking those measurements

Yes the frame rails are in the way of that. Body lifting it up would not look right either. I’ll bet the apron would stay intact on another chassis perhaps.

Humboldt,
I’ve got a question on the RC4WD cruiser grill if you would be so kind.

How far apart on center are the headlights on that body?

At it’s widest, how wide is the grill cover for the apron?

RC4WD makes a late model square grill cover option for that body but the specs are fuzzy. And expensive.

The mst headlights are 3” on center. The apron and round early style grill cover is 4” wide.

Would you please measure your cruiser and compare?

Headlights are 3 13/16" apart, the body is 8 1/4" wide at the front fenders so this body is larger for sure.

I'm not sure on the apron measurement but I assume its not needed because its just a larger body.

That's a very cool body, but the back half looks heavy. Is that true?

Nice! Thanks for the heads up guys. Hopefully it's about the same price in the US because shipping typically kills the deal at AsiaTees and RCMart.
