Sadly, that's typical of JConcepts bodies. I don't know why they won't mold in more details.

I've got the smaller Stampede sized JConcepts body, and the detail is OK except for the lack of a grill area. It's really dependant on the decal for that, but to be honest, I think that's preferrable. I never felt like decals fit well on the front of the Proline bodies that also had the shape molded into the plastic.

That said, I'm in the process of developing a 3D printed grill & headlight assembly for mine, and it looks lightyears better than the decals so far. Down the road I hope to get one of the 12.3 bodies, and if I do, I'll make another version for that truck.

This pic is one of my early versions. I'm still not done, but the new one has a lot more depth to it. I still need to make the headlight buckets and add the 5mm LED mounts.
