| Peelable Rubber Coating - Rust-Oleum Peel Coat?
Has anyone seen or tried this product on anything or even an RC body? I like the idea of being able to change designs later on. And being that it is rubber it should be very flexible and not crack on the body. I have ordered a couple cans to try, I will report back in a couple weeks. |

I have used plastidip (same stuff different brand) on 3 different rigs with great success. First was my yeti. Painted right over tje RTR graphics just to set it apart. Then my sons barrage went from tan to olive drab. Most recently I painted my kyosho outlaw rampage pro with the stuff and it turned out KILLER. I highly recommend painting the body underneath with tamiya gunmetal so when you scrape a bit of your outter coat off, it reveals realistic looking metal underneath. Its a bit soft so it will scrape and rip a little if you have a bit of an oops. But yes, it works. Go for it! |

Has anybody used clear plastic dip just to keep scratches off the body? Seems it would be more scratch resistant than lexan. And for any bad spots just spritz another bit on to fill in Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk |

Its honestly really soft. I should put up pics of my kyosho. I rolled it a couple times and it scraped off some plastidip amd I'm sure the lexan underneath has scratches. This stuff isnt bedliner. Its literally a thin membrane of colored rubber. |

I painted over an RTR Wraith body and was not happy, Like Shinchu said its very soft. It ended up looking pretty beat up after a few months of driving it. It tends to scratch and peel up larger sections around the scratch. You can peal it off and re-do the paint but thats not ideal. I think a lexan body painted on the outside (with lexan paint) is a fair bit tougher than Plasti dip actually. I dont think I'll ever use plasti dip again unless its inside of a bed or something protected. |
