| Lexan Outside + Styrene Inner structure
Hey guys, Has anyone tried to make a styrene inner structure with a lexan body acting as the “sheet metal”? An example might be a door, where the frame of the door is styrene and the sheet metal is the lexan body. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For looks or strength? I think it would look cool if done right on a hard body with opening doors where you can see the layers. Or even when it comes to weathering. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Mostly for looks. I want to scratch build the inner sections for the body. It would be things like a engine bay, drop bed, backsides of opening panels. I was looking at the outer shell being a modern truck. I have two bodies that could work for the panels, which are a Colorado and a Metric by Proline. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh my god that is awesome. I am going to have to save that one. Thank you for the link! This was exactly what I needed. I was thinking something like this build, but not that extreme on the details. (Way beyond my skills and time, lol). Basically what this person did, but using the lexan body as the outer panels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For looks, yes. For strength or usability, no.

Well decided to go through with the project actually. Just not going as insane though. The plan is a opening hood with engine bay, full depth interior and bed. Decided to leave the doors attached. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did a couple of trucks using lexan for the outer and styrene for the interior. TF2 1946 Power Wagon |

That looks really awesome. Love the wood bed. The interior looks real. How did it hold up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
