Hey props to proline for listening and trying to do some molded parts.... just try a bit harder next time. The grill, headlights and tail lights are meant to be inset and flush with the ranger body where these just look tacked on and stick out far too much to look good.

Sorry to be critical but the design of the over fender is hideous and Rangers never came this way. The body looks okay if you ignore the overfender and lights that stick out.

I think the prerunner fenders are the way to go because it will hide the (ugly) overfenders and should obscure the light buckets sticking out potentially.

Meh I think it is hideous but just excited ProLine is showing an interest in molded parts. Now if they could just make recesses in the body for them...and quit putting ginourmous fender flares on everything...:lmao:

Edit: is it just me or does ProLine's studio photographer suck? That angled front shot makes them look pinched/narrow/gangly. If I had not seen some of their bodies in person I'd never buy one just based on the photos.

Agreed, the fender flares are a bit exaggerated, but they are trying to compensate for multiple platforms, tire sizes, etc. Notice they're showing it with their narrowest set of tires. I'm planning on getting this body when it comes out. The prerunner version is just cool to me. We're going to be seeing soooo many prerunner builds in the near future.

You really think that genre will be that popular because of a Proline body? Maybe the SCT crowd would get into it but I'd be surprised if a lot of crawler guys started building go fast IFS rigs.

Re: Ranger danger

A swing and a miss I think.

Seems like almost a good effort but the molded parts don't fit the way they should, the fenders flares look wrong and I hate that the pre-runner fenders are held on with a nut/bolt.

It's always possible. Looks like they have some sort of twin I beam under that prerunner version. That I'm more curious about.

Well, whether anyone here buys one or not, it does show that Pro-Line has been listening somewhat - we have been begging for something different for years!

I like the fact that it doesn't have a molded front bumper that we would all immediately be cutting off - I was getting tired of seeing that.

Since Rangers are fairly often seen with SAS front axles in "Send-it" videos on YouTube, it's not too bad.

Also - they listened again and made the bed separate, no ugly phantom rollbar stiffeners behind the cab.

It's better than nothing!

(and IMHO, better than their Metric body - that one always really looked off...)

Now, THAT'S commitment - upgrading your 1:1 to match your 1/10th!

:lmao:

I learned how to drive stick on an old B2200, not the same bodystyle...

But when I got out of the Marines, I rode in a buddy of mine's Ranger in that same teal color from 29 Palms to Detroit!

Re: Ranger danger

I was super excited (my son even more so since he's hoping to buy an early 90's Ranger as his first real car in a few years) and then I saw that the "fiberglass" is a $34 add-on to the $87 Ranger body. That's too rich for my blood, especially considering you have to hack the crap out of it to make the 2 work together. But seriously, what's the story on the bent/extended I-beam front end? That's rad! Looks 3d printed, but I like that it's out of the ordinary and would consider building a new 2wd if that were something sold as a kit.

Daron Parsons replica!!!
Super tempting to throw an IFS gatekeeper under there...

*whoa didn't notice the twin I beam setup until I read some of your posts... that's either a 3d printed, non-articulated mock up, or...
Is proline going to release some sort of game changer suspension kit?!?

I think its crazy no one has been talking about the sick i-beam kit they have on what looks like to be a scx10.
