Default Painted my Drivers Head Today.

Looks like I'm a little rusty, I will admit I rushed it a bit and couldn't find my magnifier lenses (buried somewhere in my mess) But not too bad considering.

I need to decide if I have the patience to try and make a pair of 1/10 scale glasses.

Smog, that's not a bad idea, I've got some thin wire but if I can't make that work I'll have to order some body clips, I don't have any extras that are small enough at the moment.

Thanks Moparman, I thought about trying to tint the lenses, but thought I might be pushing my luck.

hey fellas ... just a quick question what kind of paint are you using to paint figures ... i have a couple of rigs that need interiors and i have gotten a couple of the tamiya drivers that are waiting on assembly and paint ... i wanted to know what are you using for paint. do you use readily available acrylic paint, testors, etc.

I am not too sure if the regular acrylic paint will adhere to the tamiya plastic at all or if i need to get more specialty paint?

Craft store will work fine for your interior finish. Just FYI, all Tamiya paint is, is overpriced repackaged acrylic.

@speedy-triple and @Cookee

Make sure you wash your figure well before painting. You need to make sure the oils from your fingers, and mold release agents from the manufacturing process are gone. I use a 50/50 water alcohol blend (if using 99% alcohol) to clean plastic parts. I use ModelMaster or Testors Acrylics but they are becoming harder to find. If possible, a coat of acrylic primer helps (but I am lazy sometimes and skip this step.) as far as an overcoat, spray on your favorite acrylic clear coat. Krylon Crystal Clear works well and comes in gloss or matte finishes.

thanks doom ... I will acquire a couple of the mentioned acrylic paints and test out against the acrylic craft paint I already have. Great tip on the over coat I never even thought about sealing the finished product in the end.
