Red face Chrome removal from Cross RC?

So I've had fantastic luck with removing chrome Tamiya parts simply by soaking in Purple Power. However, these Cross RC grills seem to be made of armored plating!

So far I've tried yellow can oven cleaner and the purple power soak.

Are there any other tricks in removing chrome from plastic parts?

Brake Fluid might work.
