I have used Westley's Bleach-White white wall tire cleaner to strip styrene plastic models. Submerge the body over night and rinse it with water in the morning. Wil. |

Well after letting it sit in a plastic bag sprayed with easy off for the whole night I was able to get off about 1/3 of the first layer of paint(there's 2 on there). Where the first layer came off the second one did as well. What I did get off on the first layer i had to scrape off and it came off in chips, where the second layer was just liquid underneath. Its really gonna suck if it keeps going this slow |

I just stripped the paint off of my f350truggy body for the second time.I didn't want to wait for the brake fluid to work so I used some citrus based stripper I found at Home Depot.I can't remember the name of the stuff but it was orange in color. It stripped 3 layers of paint and primer in about 20 minutes! However in the areas where the paint was worn off from rock rash it did soften the plastic a little bit.I wasn't concerned since this body sees so much abuse and I planned on shooting it in flat black primer and calling it done.It came out awesome! If you go this route be very careful and keep a close eye on the stripper. As soon as you can scrape away most of the paint dunk the body in soapy water to stop the stripper from eating into the plastic .All this talk of stripping makes me want to go to the titty bar! Good luck

I have heard of people having good results with Castrol Super Clean. I know from experience that brake fluid works, is the messiest, and can take over a week and several applications to do the trick. Good Luck!

BTW, i forgot who said about using a brush with copper bristles, but thanks because that works really well. I just used an old grille brush and it really helps get the loose or semi-loose paint off. | |
