So, what's the plan? Location? Date?

The plan is I have been trying to secure a West Coast location. So far Southern California and Northern Nevada are the leading candidates.

The traditional date is the weekend following Labor Day, and every effort will be made to keep the date the same. However until I have a signed agreement in hand everything is pending.

If anyone has the time or ability to secure a location worthy of a Nationals venue its not too late to be considered.

When I know something firm I will share the details immediately

I REALLY liked going to Donner in the past, but the last time the USRCCA checked for an event there was a significant price increase, and said the date we wanted conflicted with their ski season prep. Its worth a shot things change and in this economy maybe their pricing is more affordable.

Moab also previously eliminated itself with its pricing ($13 per person per day) and a ton of red tape from BLM and Nevada.

Is this exclusively with the City of Moab or have you tried Area BFE?

I am positive Area BFE would love to have us, not too sure on cost though, it could be the deal breaker.

I just edited my previous post regarding part of your question.

The 1st National was held in BFE (Private Land), so its been a few years. From what I remember it was loose rocky terrain that wouldn't be suitable for the current generation of crawlers. I think it would be tough to build courses that would not fall apart:shock: I would be happy for someone to prove me wrong.

I wanted to go further west this year, and save Disney as a possible 2014 location. If I don't get something locked down by the end of April.....it may happen Sooner than expected.

I said Sooner.....get it?:lmao:

Yeah, you could be right?... I have never driven there except the 1st week I ever had my car. Seemed like there was enough there but it could have been relative at the time?

Here is one of my pictures that would best show the rock. This spot is just a couple hundred yrd off the main parking lot (looking at the background).

Re: 2013??

Lets try to pick a location that offers some draw for reasons other than crawling. Thats been one of the main factors that keeps me personally returning year after year. Pretty much all of the past national events (with the exception of one) have taken me to some pretty amazing places and thats what I look forward too more than just the crawling...

just sayin...
