HOTEL

Newport hotels | BEST WESTERN Mainstay Inn | Newport Mansions
Official Hotel - Rodeway Inn

We have 25 rooms blocked off at the Rodeway Inn available for booking at a Group Rate. The group name to mention when booking is USRCCA.

Rates are as follow.

1 Queen Bed - Weekday Price = $39.99, Friday & Saturday night = $130
2 Double Beds - Weekday Price = $49.99, Friday & Saturday = $130

We got some great prices on the weekday so anyone who wants to come in early or stay late in the Newport area can sleep for cheap. It seems like the hotel will be pretty flexible until the end of July if we need to add rooms, after that no promises.

Campground - Fort Getty Campground

For those of you that are planning on coming to nationals and would like to Tent Camp check out this camplground that is just down the road from the Crawling Location. Fort Getty Campground has tent site available for the dates of Nationals, when I called on April 23rd there were 15 spots left.

Tent Sites are $25 per night and Allow 3 Adults and 1 Tent (kids are ok and as far as I can figure do not count).

Call Jill at the campground to make a reservation as they may book up sooner than you think. She says she is in and out of the office until 4PM (EST) but it is best to reach her in the morning.

Here is a map of the worlds Location. There is a GPS in the top corner and this shows where Crawl Spots (Practice), Parking, and Bathrooms are. Actual course locations will be choosen next week. There will be signs the day of the comp showing where the event will take place. It will be at one of those two orange circles.

Here is a link to a printable version if you would like to print one out.

Drop me a PM if you have questions.

Don't really see the need to use the Team Format because volunteers at Nationals have always been plentiful. Team format is not my 1st choice for this particular event, but it is an option.

Cool.

I'm confused though on your "Its"...is your first choice standard or team?

Edit: I see your clarification. Thanks.

Hey Fish,

Please add this information to the Hotels / Accommodations section.

The Block of rooms will be held until August 4th, after that the room rate is still available if rooms are available.

Here is a better link if you want to update the Local Comp Action in the Other Category. Better Pictures, more of them, and more recent.

Spent the whole day at the fort today... Troy(winnerone23) came up to play and got a lot of pictures and video that I'm sure he'll post up in the next couple days. The amount of good terrain is just bonkers... Getting pumped for Nats for sure! Rock is gnarly with awesome traction and lines all over... Plus the view and the ocean breeze is hard to beat.

That worn out look from last weeks photo fun is from all the handys I gave out for a judges spot. It's so close to home that I have to at least work there this year. I'm hoping it works out. If not I'll get to see some good driving and treat Liz to a nice weekend away. You've comped with me 3 or so times now Chris. You know I " qualify" to fetch water and shit. Haha!

winnerone23 06-16-2014 11:12 AM

I'll get some pics posted and say a few words after work.
Or check out my Berg thread, now, or my sporty thread later. (When I get the video to finish downloading)

The spot looks killer. The bruising on my hands should recover for me to be the button pusher you've come to love. I'm looking forward to wheeling there! Part of why I'm going Wednesday. Meeting my bud Krawler Kev to get some solid practice in. Or as Rowdy mislabeles it, pre running:)
