So the trip west started fine, no issues. Then most of the way across Nebraska, the carrier bearing on my ML disintegrated,[rant on] rental car company's in po-dunk Kearney won't rent to an out if state license, without major CC, Visa/Master debits don't count, and the autoshop can't get the part to fix it until Friday morning! Looks like I am stuck, will miss the sporty comp, and will get in LATE Friday night....sigh...

Jeremy, I tried, we pulled the rear drive shaft last night when it happened and tried to get it work in front drive only like most 4WD's can, but the damn transfer case wouldn't cooperate!! Stupid German engineering....

Yep, I've driven my fully locked jeep in front wheel drive around town when I had the rear DS out....not fun! :lol:

Yeah, did it plenty of times in the K5 too...it's frustrating. I think I am gonna trade it in on a new Raptor...just not today! lol

Haha! That would be awesome!! Come home from a trip and show the family your new ride! Sure would make for a quick negotiation period at the dealership.

I would avoid the Raptor's 11 mpg on a 4000 mile round trip. And don't think about a Tundra either unless 10 mpg in town is your goal.
