Well guys... If some of you have not read or seen the news the government is being a bunch of dipchits.... and naitonal parks are CLOSED. The Ocoee White Water center is in a National park which means it is closed...

So what I want to know... is if it is closed would you guys be interested in having this at a different location somewhere in TN, or just push the event back to a later date? I know you guys have taken off work and what not but the 2013 Gettin Southern Showdown is ON! Be it at another location the same weekend, or at the Ocoee at a later date.

Same weekend...and AS CLOSE TO OCOEE as possible. It'd be nice to not have to change lodging and all that.

If the park gates are closed we might still be able to park on the closed section of highway along the outside of the park. It's plenty wide enough and the only traffic on it is normally people leaving the park.

Although I don't really have anything to base this on...I still feel fairly certain that they will get things back in some form of order before Oct. 19-20 gets here

Remember...that location adds several hours to some peoples travel that are already traveling 4+ hours to the Ocoee. I won't be going to LRC...

There has to be another location in east TN that could support 30 or so drivers. The location doesn't have to be something amazing...we just need some rock, some gates, a little chalk, and good times will be had

I pushed sign ups on back to 12:00 midnight. Had a couple ask if I could so they could pay this evening.

I hope the govt gets their heads out of their asses soon, doubt we will get refunds for already booked lodging.

If they dont we will find somewhere close to the ocoee to have the comp. Dont want you guys to have to do that

Just trying to plan ahead for the unexpected. As Ryan said, you can pretty much hop off the side of the interstate and have a comp up yonder
