I assume my Axial Falken Wildpeaks will be acceptable.

This change is just for this event, not scale as a whole. I hear exactly what you are saying.

Scale seems to be going the way comp crawling did a few years ago with rules that drove others away. So glad that it has regrouped and has a solid foundation of people now.

Yea I hope it doesn't get that way. If the trend is to start only using licensed (tires/products) a lot of good tires and after market products that work great are going to suffer. Not to mention splintering of a lot of scale groups and clubs away from competions and large organized groups. There are so many selections of tires that are awesome and scale, they are really shooting themselves in the foot with this move.

Wow!! The tire rules may hurt, but people will show up. Where is the reference to a cow bell in the rules. Did I miss something and can someone, hopefully the organizers, or someone who is well informed list some of the acceptable licensed tires that are acceptable for 1.5 and 1.9 wheels. Who wants to arrive with wrong stuff!!!!?????

Right here: https://www.motoramaevents.com/rc-scale

Extreme Scale Class - Tire size not to exceed 4.75in or 120mm. Wheel size not to exceed 1.9. Tires may be licensed or a scale replica of a full size tire. No comp tires or cut-n-shut tires. Siping and/or removing lugs is approved. Vehicles must have a driver and cockpit. The only required scale items for this class are a fire extinguisher and cow bell.

The other classes have some requirements too, further down the page - I missed them on the first read :
Required Scale Items for ST & Open Class.
Side Mirrors or Driver side mirror & rear view mirror.
Windshield wipers. Stickers or plastic are ok.
A spare tire.
A cooler.
A jack.
A gas can.
A first aid kit.

WTF?

Competitions should be more about the driving than tacky scale accessories.

It is all about the driving, I have gone for the past three years and had a blast. A little scale realism never hurt.

So digging up an old thread.

Did anyone go, how was it?

I have lots of questions thinking about going 2018, I know a long way off but this is one of the few events I can get to since I live in No Va.

I get the scale requirements for interior or gas can but cow bell? Why a cow bell? Do people use them on 1:1 4x4s

I have gone since it began. It is a good time, tough on rigs. Other items are at Parker's decision. COWBELL, who in the world knows why.

Also the requirement for scale interior, doesn't that eliminate many body shells? Most don't have interiors available.

Many people get creative and make them for their rigs. It is really not that difficult and I know that proline has a generic interior that works on most rigs.
