Thanks! I'll get a set and see what I can do and how feasible it is to do multiple parts for people. I'll post my progress in a new thread once I get the parts.

the rod i used was the 3/16 but the hole on the bevel gear uses these for the shaft http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/15302
and the shaft that the bevel gear goes on

and the diagram of where these parts came from on the lst2

thats where the problem lies , the spool for any manufactured bevel gear to work would need to be made backwards with the indentation on the back side(the holowed out part) . if you try to use it using it the same way as the plastic bevel gear goes on it does'nt line up at all in the axle housing (and the bevel part is on the wrong side). if anything it may be easier to make a new spool for the losi gears to make a direct fit ,or new smaller cups so you could use the driveshaft from the losi bevel gear. a new spool will be the easiest setup

I'm going to order the parts today and will work on this mod next weekend. I have an idea that might work. Well see once I get the parts in hand.

Well I got the parts, we needed to get some tooling so we can cut the hardened steel gears. So now we are waiting on that. As soon as it arrives we'll start cutting and grinding.

these are one tough gears. before cutting the gears would it be easier to make a new spool to fit these gears or do you still need to cut them ?

Well my father-in-law and I both looked at them and decided it would be easier to cut the gears and use the existing spool. To make a new spool would require a bit more work. Plus to get the unmodified Losi gears to fit would require grinding a lot of the PTI axle case. The Losi ring gear is the exact same diameter as the PTI/Associated one. The difference is the extra material that the Losi gear has on the backside. Once that is removed, the Losi gear will be the exact same thickness as the stock PTI/Associated gear. The hard part actually is getting the pinion to fit in the stock location. The diameter of the pinion is larger than the stock PTI/Associated pinion. So we'll need to figure out how to get it to fit. The idea is to try to get the gears to fit with as little modification to the stock PTI parts. This way we can modify the gears for you guys and you just install them. We'll see how it works out though. I know there will most likely be some grinding to the stock PTI axle cases to get the gears to fit properly. But we'll try to keep it to a minimum.

Everybody here should bug RC4WD to do it, I have, I think they are our only chance at getting this done.
