I emailed them a week ago or so and here is what they said....

"Yes are working on metal ring and pinions, however we're finding our new redesigned input shaft has all but eliminated any gear problems... "

By the time metal gears are made, my truck will have a lot of dust piled on top of it. Gives me plenty of time to decide how I want to mount the body, and redo the suspension a little. come on pti, hook it up. I want to finish this truck, and buid another.

when I spoke with them today, they said they are working on a vendor for metal gears and should know something this week. They also said they redid the axle housings and that has helped their gear problems.

I have to say from experience, the problem has always been the axle input shaft. That area needs a brace, once you brace it you realy haveto try to strip gears.

So will these gears be interchangable with TC3 gearsets?

maybe the input shaft was my problem, because I know the gears were setup properly. I just wish they would have solved this long ago. I hate to see this truck sit. I still don't know if I want to make it a crawler or racer. It is already at 12.5 wb and I have some hpi thrasher tires on it. The tires are another reason I want metal gears. but I am glad to hear that everyone else has good luck with their gears.

They sent me two new input shafts free of charge. It's worth a shot!

I start back to work in a couple of days. Hopefully my first paycheck will be enough so I can buy some parts for this thing. I think I am gonna gear it fast. :-P
