Default better turn radius ?

I was wondering if anybody has a modification to make the goliath axles turn sharper. I'm doing a 1.9 scaler. I've thought about putting my open diffs out of my tc3 on to help, but I'm scared it wouldn't climb near as well. Climbing is definitly a must being one of my best friends has a 1.9 axial I'll be competing against. I would prefer to keep the locked diffs (plan on upgrading to metal gears later).

You have to grind down the cup on the axle stub that the dogbone goes into. This will keep the dogbone from hitting the cup. This will give you a little more steering. You can also grind away material around the axle "C" to make more clearance for the arm on the knuckle, but I think the sharp angle of the arm won't allow it to turn much more anyway.

I went a little extreme on mine and put TLT knuckles on. The arms on the knuckles don't curve around, so you get more leverage and the knuckle can swing further. With the addition of grinding away the axle case and using PTI's CVDs, I get at least as much steering as an Axial. The only problems with this solution is that:

1)TLT knuckles are not a perfect fit, and are a pain in the ass to fit up.
2)PTI CVDs can't be found anywhere anymore.

The CVD axleshaft is 60mm long from end to end. If you're feeling motivated, you could search Tower and probably find ones that fit. But you'll probably have to mix-n-match and buy two different sets; one set with the proper length CVD axleshaft and one set of axle stubs that are long enough to go through the knuckle.
