The stock spur is a 84 tooth 48 pitch.I would think about getting a gd600.Here a link to how to install it http://www.one18th.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21441

I use RC4WD 4:1 Gear Reduction Unit ( http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.p...roducts_id=427 ), which works great with stock spur and 18T pinion.

Yeah just got mine together, running a 35t lathe, 6 cell 2/3a pack. Its geared way too high. I am thinking the 4:1 from rc4wd will be the way to go for me. Hard to believe they released a "rock crawler" with that hight of gearing.
