Default PTI crawler conversion (pics)

Here's My Pti mini goliath. with 105 mm traxxas turnbuckles, 84mm shortened t4 CVD's (89 originally), Imex swamp dawgs, an integy 55 turn lathe motor run by an intellispeed t-maxx shocks with cut savage springs and cantilevers moved to the outside mounts on the frame. I have some TC3 spools on the way to replace the ball diffs. And am working on a rear steer setup.

I hope you didn't pay too much for the spools. I have two aluminum spools I want to get rid of for $20, never even been used.

What's the wheel base? What do you think of the quality of the truck?

The diff gears are indeed plastic.

If you have a couple servo posts, you could put those on, then position the servo so it's resting on the axle and drill a couple holes to secure the servo posts to the existing servo mount. After that, chop off the excess, remove the bumper and you'll get a huge improvement in approach angle.

Default Pti

I paid about 20 dollars each for the TC3 spools and the gears aren't plastic, They're hardened nylon (about the same thing). but one guy on one 18th.com who works for PTI says that he will paint a custom body for the first person who strips a diff (he says that challenge is in no relation to the PTI company) I think I may have a sweet body with spools and a lathe motor, but we'll see. As for the Specs it has a 10.5 inch wheelbase and has 2.5 inches of clearance under the skid plate. I really don't know what else you want there but just ask specifically and I'll tell you. The servos can't go on top of the axle because they hit the chassis but I tried. With the current setup the servo sticks out way foreward and the servo horn points to the back of the vehicle. I cut out some aluminum mounts so the servo will be closer to the axle and the servo horn will stick out foreward. I'll keep you posted.

I have never heard of PTI before, but that looks great!. The axles look like mini twin-force axles. Where could I get som more info on PTI?

www.ptiracing.net

I would say lose the cantis, make a horizontally shorter chassis (will give you that servo clearance to mount the servo on the axle), and get a bigger body on it.
