Thanks guys! I'm still thinking of paint schemes. But at least I finally got to break the motor in and drive it around a little.

Well, I think this build is close to dead. I really don't have anywhere to drive this thing and it's quiet loud and annoying for my neighbors. I'm glad it's helped some of you out though. Please feel free to ask any questions and good luck!

If anyone is interested in owning this car, I'll be posting it in the "sale" section within a week or two.

Yeah it's a 2nd generation GTI. Mid-engine RWD conversion

Build thread is here if you've got hours to spend reading

VWVortex.com - Golf mk2 16vT Mid-Engine RWD Race car build

I wish they made an Audi RS4 body, just so it'd really be an RS4. Then again, I'm really partial to the VW/Audi family, having owned 5 or 6 of 'em by now.

After a few inquiries about part numbers I've realised I didn't include them in this thread. So here is a list of parts and their numbers.

I gathered this list from another forum member and also found it on HPI's forum.

  • 80838 MIP CVD Rear

(Any shock set close to 62-87mm of travel)
  • A723 Aluminum Rally Shocks
  • A773 Composite Rally Shocks
  • A373 Super Nitro Rally front skid, shock towers, body mounts
  • 85032 (#7 part on the tree) used as front upper links (also longer) **This part tree may come as spare parts with a new RS4 3 EVO+
  • 72230 (NMT Racer) Slipper Spur Adaptor **The Slipper isn't neccessary unless you're doing big jumps
