| Scale rally racing...!
This little niche may be common knowledge, but I recently stumbled on it and am now obsessed with getting into it.....Building scale gates, bridges, podiums...especially here in WI where we've got rivers, asphalt, woods and gravel within yards of each other..now to order my DF-03 and program the lap timer function on my radio.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sN9F2cjNDQ |

that was a well made video, the only problem i see is if i did that, id probably trip over my own rc running after it.. but it looks like it can be an addictingly fun time!

Looks like a lot of work chasing the car. I have been thinking of building a rally car to run in the yard or maybe at the track on practice days. The Jang over at Ultimate RC built a pretty cool one out of Exceed stuff. That might be a good way to go cheap.

All I have to say is that they do some really cool stuff, and it gets published into the local RC magazine. Scaling is also pretty big there too. The hobby shop I went to there had lots of Rally/Drift stuff. This is the main website: http://www.rallybrno.cz/ | |

| OHBOYOHBOYOHBOY! I pick this sweet thing up tomorrow...can't WAIT to cover her in mud... Those monkeyracing videos do rock..I've been watching them over and over, finding new detail and action each time... I'd love to get together with some folks locally for an event like this, but the best part of rally is that it's still just you and course... |

The problem is no one RC rally races anymore :( I did the same thing as you did, saw the amazing scale videos and bought a few Rally cars now they sit and collect dust :( No one in my area is interested in it. Here is what is in my garage |

Thats awesome! I've been into r/c racing for about 12 years now and never knew they did r/c Rallys. I was talking to a friend about that not long ago. He was looking at the Ken Block Fiesta...I told him they'd be awesome if they raced them around our area...thats just killer. Only downside- I think it would be tough trying to operate your car while chasing it...then what if someone faster comes to pass you? I'm fat, so I'll stick to crawling lmao.

| I think they run solo time trials, just like crawling comps, so I don't think there's any passing, tho a full-contact rally raid would be fun too.. I got out to a local park today that has LOTS of terrain changes, "scale" trails and obstacles..I had too much fun to get any video done.. But I was able to get started on some scale track barriers...I ran over 'em a couple times, so they got a bit banged up ...I've got material to do a bunch of 1-3ft sections.. |

| thanx turtle! I work for a garage door company, and those are the drop pieces from when I cut struts.. those are just the prototype, the next batch will look better and get some distressing and mud-spatter... Now I'm collecting wood scrap for some scale bridges @Jason: I'm gonna make a crap-load of obstacles, so you don't need to pitch in at all....but you gotta come over here to enjoy them Last edited by the_ghetto_rig; 05-12-2011 at 10:58 AM. |
