Marlboro is nice but consider The Black, Red and White Pirelli theme ![]() Last edited by CheapTwin; 06-05-2012 at 01:02 AM. |

That is basically the scheme. It just doesn't have the red strips.

Few questions on the DRX bodies; will they fit over a standard buggy based 1/8 on-road car? You mentioned that the Ford Fiesta was brittle, how are the other versions holding up? I'd like to try them on my Ofna GTP2 as another option. Thnx! |

they are too small for a 1/8 buggy. these look to fit something more around the size of a 1/10 buggy.

Its plenty big and no were near 10th scale or even the 9th scale this car is listed at. All the dimensions of this car are actually larger then the New HPI WR8 that is coming out, which is listed as 1/8th scale.

Hmm, this sounds promising. I'll have to look back and compare the track and wheel width. Thanks! Ok, maybe it won't work... DTX: Width: 260mm (10.24 inches) Wheelbase: 316mm (12.44 inches) Ofna GTP: Width: 12.25 inches Wheelbase: 12.5 inches The GTP is about 2" narrower. I guess that's why the DTX looks more scale. I've been hopping Traxxas would come out with a Rally using the X0-1 chassis. WELL it looks like that wont happen! The Flux WR8 but, I must say the lager size of the DRX is much more appealing. I was wondering if you would answer some questions for me Ty? If you had to do this all over again what would you do different? Out of the two set ups which is better? Power Plant: Rig 1 sensorless or Rig 2 sensored? Would a 1/8 scale setup ![]() ![]() Chassis: Rig 1 nitro or Rig 2 conversion? Do you think the battery being on one side or the other makes a difference in handling? Do the tires balloon to all hell at speed? Do they come pre-glued? What kind've run time are you getting with that batt? Thanks, Allen ![]() |

Creepy Inc.- I've been hopping Traxxas would come out with a Rally using the X0-1 chassis. WELL it looks like that wont happen! The Flux WR8 but, I must say the lager size of the DRX is much more appealing. I was wondering if you would answer some questions for me Ty? If you had to do this all over again what would you do different? - I would only order the motor mount and battery mount. Everything else (chassis, etc.) wasn't necessary. Out of the two set ups which is better? -To me both feel identical, I honestly can't feel a difference. Power Plant: Rig 1 sensorless or Rig 2 sensored? Would a 1/8 scale setup ![]() ![]() -The sensored motor blew itself out 10 seconds in so both rigs currently have a CC 550 can system. The problem I have with sensored motors is they can't handle water unless modified and even then can have issues. Don't forget this is rally and driving in wet, snowy, muddy conditions is all part of it, plus it is a hell of a lot of fun. The Castle system both cars are running is flawless, there is tons of torque and speed, while they are not rocket ships they are plenty fast for loose and tight track conditions. An 1/8th scale setup would not be unrealistic in my opinion, it would run cooler, but the problem I have is they get pretty pricey, which is one reason I opted for the 10th scale setup. Chassis: Rig 1 nitro or Rig 2 conversion? Do you think the battery being on one side or the other makes a difference in handling? - I honestly don't think it matters, I did save some money though keeping the stock chassis. As for handling, I don't notice a difference with the bigger batteries on one side. The rig seems to be pretty balanced and corners the same both ways and flies nice and straight. Do the tires balloon to all hell at speed? Do they come pre-glued? - There is a little bit of tire ballooning at speed, but its not terrible, the rear squat is more extreme then the tires blowing up. The tires do come pre glued, at least when you buy the car, but after that it is up to you. The tires don't sit in a bead like a traditional RC wheel they slide in from the outside, it actually makes them really easy to mount and glue. What kind've run time are you getting with that batt? -Tons! Im not even sure, it really depends how you drive. If you drive balls to the wall 10 minutes, but more conservative on tight course with lower speeds 20-30 minutes is not unrealistic. Hope that helps! -Ty

i understand what YOU would have done, but the person who asked seemed to be interested in a traxxas which means that he would be more interested in something rtr.
