Default GDB RALLY ADDICTION Part 3

Well this is the car that started my obsession into the Rally scene. This has also been sprinkled in others threads also and thought it should have it's own.

Like others have stated this is a blast to drive, handles everything remarkably well.

The stock Orion power plant works just fine for me, 2s or 3s keeps on motoring. The stock RTR Kyosho radio had to go right away... car lost signal at 50 ft first time out. The servo was OK but as I got used to the car that also needed replaced with a XP 1015. (love these things 200 oz and .08 sec @ 6v)

After using the wheels and Fiesta body on my Jammin conversion (has it's own thread) I needed a new body and wheels for the DRX.

Once again after following other threads and realizing the stock chassis cover wasn't going to cut it. I did the MP9 side guard and buggy body mod. It turned out great and can't wait for this weekend.

This car is pretty darn tuff maybe not "Traxxas" tuff but I haven't broken anything yet and I'm not the best of drivers....yet. Oh one more thing I do to all my bodies is shoo goo schmear on fr & rr bumpers and along the sides about an inch up. It helps prolong/prevent the lexan from cracking. I don't know if ya can see it well enough but I think I stated in another thread it's 1/8" more like 1/16". Couple step process to get it thick enough to work.

I like the mods, nice and simple, but effective. I'm digging the itroen body.

What body are you using for the dust cover? Also, did you make any changes to the diffs?

The Kyosho MP9 Buggy body.

Yes, just like most before me I added the extra spider gears in all 3 diffs.

Looking at your other threads about rally cars. I am wanting to purchase a Rally car soon. I have the DRX VE in mind, do you recommend it highly?

I am mostly using it around packed dirt and ashphalt.

Yes I do! It was my first purchase and got me hooked.

I had a couple guys in our local club ask if they could get just one which would I recommend and hands down it's the DRX.
