Pretty cool but the lack of underbody protection is a minus. Price is nice too! |

Does that look incredibly similar to the Vaterra car to anyone else?

Nice width, but I wonder how stable it is with the WB at 225mm? Decent alum pcs already on it. Hopefully they will come out with spares and upgrades - right now the page is blank. |

The Ranger does great for rally. My friend just got one and we have been running it on the track all weekend. It has plenty of ground clearance and a good amount of adjustment. The aluminum shocks work great and the drive train is smooth. The electronics are decent and stay cool with good power on both nimh and lipo. All in all everything works great for a great deal, nothing to upgrade out of the box for a beginner like my friend.

I just got one of these in a trade. Tons of fun! On 3s it rips and handles great.

It's built on the same platform as a clone of the Losi Mini 8ight. If read lots of good stuff about them.

Had the Vaterra Kemora.. this is way better.. The spur gear is encased so no rocks can destroy it.. and it comes with CVD's from factory.. I bought it for my GF to drive but im going to buy one for myself. Aluminum Chassis, Aluminum shocks. The kemora was bad on Spur gears and shock cups flying off.. Tacon doesnt have that problem. Its a fun car that can take a beating.. |

I have a feeling we'll see a few of these in the Group R class this year in Colorado. Lots of guys ran vaterras last year but this seems a bit better out of the box.

Can this accommodate 1/10 electronics?

I would say no but there really is no need. This thing on 3s is as fast as you would ever want it to go.

I was thinking more, buy the brushed version and plop in a 540, a 85a ESC and call it a day. I know the 540/has a slightly larger can diameter, but wonder if I could make it fit? This would solely be to save $ as I have the electronics. |

I will look at mine and see how much room there is. I feel like its pretty tight now tho and this motor is small

I'm gonna say it won't fit. I just looked at it and there is no room without a good amount of modifications

Thanks for checking. Has anyone tracked down the rear shocks from the dune buggy? Looks like they'll provide more travel, or are folks happy with stock suspension?

I mostly run mine on the street but last week I did some off road driving with it and even took it to a short course track. I was really impressed by it. It handles the jumps really well. Nothing broke and I wasn't at all nice to it.

I had a kemora, much the same were my impressions. I hated all the plastic... I might grab this, but will likely put 1/10 really tired on it. I also had an xv01 and while very nice, I'm looking for something cheap to throw around. |
