| [STR] XV-01 Pro
I´m presenting my new rally chassis: XV-01 Pro! Still some work to do, I need a longer brushless sensor cable, the one I bought measuring 200mm was not enough to reach the back of car. Other than that the deal will be setting this car right. I´ve already ordered the proper 300mm sensor cable from ebay, but it will take awhile since its coming from Hong Kong. I´ll probably start working with it over tarmac at some local track. Its always good to start easy and evolve with time and difficulty. And then when I´m confident with the car and know it better, will throw it into the dirt! The build tho a bit difficult for my technical level, went smooth overall. One mistake I´d made was to lime the front pulley´s plastic spacer. It was a tight fit and the metal pin was not going in. Later I figured I´d made a mistake assembling the pulley itself, so now there is about 1/2mm slack there. Not a problem for now, but can prove to be a weak link on the long run. The build itself surprised me a lot for this kit´s quality. Its a great piece of engineering! I didnt have the chance to shake it down yet, but tried it inside the house and two things that really impressed me were its huge turnability and smoothness. On the other hand, those 1XJ and 1XV suspension arm supports looks pretty fragile. The plastic pulleys may become a problem too. The good thing is that there are aluminum upgrades for them all. There are even some carbon reinforced plastic parts spruce to be released by February/13. Probably hop-ups focused on the new XV-01TC (Touring Car). Talking about the Touring Car version of this chassis, there are rumors of some sway bars to be release anytime soon but also, compatible sways from either the TA-05 or TA-06 chassis. Good news! Thanks slegh! waw, whats the biggest pinion that can be used with the slipper? I considered buying the slipper, but then I did the math and discovered that its 77T, and despite having more pinion options, the final ratio was a tad shorter. If we can compensate with a bigger pinion then that's still open. Nice paint job on your impreza btw! cheers |

| Re: [STR] XV-01 Pro yup 27T I don't exactly know the temperature of the motor coz I do not have any infrared thermometer.. I ran it with a brushed sport tuned though, after one 5.3 lipo and an exessive run it gets hot (when touched just for one second).. |

I'm considering buying a cheap $30 IR thermometer because I want to know exactly how far I can push the gearing on tarmac. Here's a gear chart from 68T-78T Spur and 21T-29T pinions Welcome to Arroyo Consulting And here's the theorectical final speeds considering the outer diameter of Tamiya Slicks (64mm) and the theorectical max RPM of a 3000kv motor powered by a 7.4v battery.
