Mission statement

The series was created to have fun and mimic full size rally cars and events. The tracks are tight with technical corners and constantly changing conditions. This series runs in all weather conditions, if it is safe to drive to the track there will be a race. Nice looking red Evo 10. Wouldn't mind seeing how he did the mudflaps. I have them, but wouldn't trust driving with mine.

Oh its not that bad. Look at the photos from last season in the 2013 thread. Half of the race days it was over 60 degrees. Plus race days are pretty short. This last one was 10-1 for 3 classes.

That rig belongs to TwistedXT (the mod) on this site. Send him a PM and I am sure he will tell you how he did it.

I just heard this the other day. Pretty sad, its a really fun and popular class.

If any of you are planning a trip to Colorado try to schedule it on a race weekend you won't be disappointed. "thumbsup"

(just a thought) If I was Vaterra, I'd try to fill the mini trophy void. Everyone seems to enjoy the Vaterra brand thus far, and those mini trucks were pretty popular for HPI. Why did they D/C the mini trophy trucks? Did they not sell enough?

Awesome pictures ty!

This one made my jaw drop. Totally awesome view.

Re: Colorado Rally Championship

To give some insight to our scoring methods, first we use an app. called "Bracket Buddy" and on race day let it do all the work. Pretty simple so far then We organize it like this:

If you have the same place it means you had the same number of wins as the other person of that place and you both got out in the same bracket. Your place transfers to series points on the series totals, which I will post after the second race of the series. If there are any questions about this please ask.

Hope that makes sense for everyone wanting to give this a go.

I thought I read on here somewhere the screen name of two people who could make stickers with my car number on it. For the life of me, can't seem to find that post.

Just finished building an XV-01 pro and got an E30 M3 body for it. Can't wait for the next race! Gotta get my lights. :-)

Re: Colorado Rally Championship

Hey Ty, What is the appox. size of your track? and can you drive it without "chasing" your vehicle? What are your lap times like?

I have been toying the thought of a traveling series for rally similar to Parkers G6. I really love the euro style events and would love to see it catch on here in the US. My idea is to find a good spot, and set up a rally stage event for a day of racing. Run it one direction for first stage, then reverse for second. Third stage would be both directions consecutively. Or change the layout a little in between.

Just trying to figure out how much area you would need to make a decent track without much vehicle chasing.

Uhh... The tracks pretty good sized. :ror: What do you locals think 30x50 feet?
All the tracks we currently have in Colorado are single position tracks, I.E. no chase style driving.

Laps are between 40-60 seconds with the Group B cars. With Roughly 27 corners per lap of the track and at HOON470 we run 3 laps. Other shorter tracks we will run 5, but never more because we loose count. :ror:

We are planning to have one of the rallies this season as a stage event. The plan is to build one pretty long stage and run it forward, backward, then forward, then backward again. Attempting to make the stage 10-15 minutes each way. We will see though its a lot of work to build what I am think and there is maybe 10% of it done as of right now.

A traveling series would be a lot of fun, but I think rally is still somewhat in its infancy and needs another year or 2 of growth. But advertise, advertise, advertise. Promote it in anyway you can to help it grow. From local events, to bugging top manufactures to make cars. It helps!
