Default DF03 vs XV01

there are so many hop ups for the DF03.. besides the fact that its shaft driven. is it just not as smooth as a belt driven car like XV01?
the Hop ups for a XV01 compared to the DF03 is lame..
or does the DF03 really need all those hop ups to be competitive to a XV01?

just wondering

The XV01 probably needs a couple more of the option parts then the DF03Ra, but the XV01 is a far superior car when it comes to driving and cornering. Out of the box though the DF03Ra does have mandatory upgrades whereas the XV01 upgrades are just highly suggested.

Ray took his XV-01 out in his back yard.. forgot to locktite some of the required stuff and ended up losing a dog bone! talk about hell to pay trying to replace it?
he's better off getting the CVD's as an upgrade. we looked everywhere for the dog bone replacement.

18$ at asia tees seems to be the cheapest deal on CVD's for the XVO1

Also, the DF03RA shares a backbone with an offroad buggy (DF03) which was released quite a bit earlier, so many of those hop-ups were already out.

Not to mention the DF03Ra came out in 2009 and the DF03 Dark Impact was on the market for several years before that. plenty of time for lots of upgrades to come out.

What the XV01 has out is all it really needs, sure there could be other parts, but nothing that is really necessary for the car.

Also the DF-03ra being based on the DF-03 Dark Impact chassis back in the day the battery tray although well put low and in the center can barely fit hard case lipos. So if u go DF-03Ra make sure you also get those lipos that are around the 4000-4200mah range and fit like a standard 6 cell NiMH pack.
