Yeah it would be really nice if this was a kit. I'd probably like it even more.

Will you go brushless? If so what setup? I just picked one up and only made it about 5 feet in the shop before the loose motor/pinion lost contact with the spur. Had some fun in the wet driveway after fixing the mesh.

I think I'll give the mst a shot. Are we thinking loose diff up front and tight diff in the rear? At least until I upgrade to gear diffs...

Man, that pre-detailed Lancia body is gorgeous. I'm tempted to buy one of these cars just to have a zero-effort display body for my XV-01 Lancia.

I'm glad to see it has a forward motor position. That seems to be better-suited to rally driving.

You can get very nice finished Lancia bodies from http://www.killerbodyrc.com/page/products.aspx. I'm planning to get one myself, as I really love the car.

I'm sorry if I've just ruined your excuse to buy this car .

Heh. Nah, I have enough projects, and I'm happy with my XV-01s. I haven't been driving them much lately anyway; I seem to have tilted back in the direction of trucks.

I'm interested enough in this thing to break my RTR ban! Please keep us posted with your progress. So far, how is the handling on loose/slippery surfaces? Does it jump as well as an essentially stock XV01? Any chance of a few compare/contrast photos with one of your stock XV01s?

progress will happen.

I'm loving this car!

Currently the XXX car is stock except for the servo and gear diffs. It's very nice. Like everything else, it takes a pack or two, but you end up loving it. Honestly, I think the suspension on this XXX is better than any of my XV chassis.. Its hard to compare, but I feel like the XXX just glides over the track. It is a clumsy jumper, but it makes the rolling hills a joy. Very Scale with the stock motor!

I'm starting to think about power system upgrades... Any suggestions?

I can take specific photos if you want me to... What kind of comparison are you looking for?

You got my biggest question covered already- it looks like the MST chassis is a bit wider than the XV01. I have a Tekin RS Pro and a Trackstar 10.5 waiting on a home, and I'll probably use either a Savox or Trackstar low profile servo. My XV has a SkyRC TS120 and a 13.5, and I'd like a little more for my next rally car.

I've been kinda stuck on rally cars for a while now. Faster than my trail trucks, more scale and better handling than a SCT, able to use anywhere. It's nice to see a real, dedicated RTR- the Rally Legends didn't seem like enough R&D had been done.

Nice looking chassis. Thanks for the pics. The frontish mount motor is an interesting choice. Those stock tires look excellent. If they are anything like the compound of the MST CMX tires then I am sure they will be good.
