Bvrc's MST XXX Rally This is my first MST car. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...d9c60c1022.jpg Wheelbase : Standard 257mm (adjustable) Width : Standard 186mm (adjustable) Gear ratio : 5.54~9.22 Caster : 6 degrees MST's XXX Rally page |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Interesting... MST is using Tamiya bodies on these things... ... Edit: Now that I'm actually looking at MST stuff it seems like they use Tamiya bodies on multiple rigs, not just these rally cars. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...68c1267e3d.jpg |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally The transmitter seems to work fine, but feels very cheap. It has something loose inside... It feels like one of those little cans that moos like a cow when you turn it over... http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...689c934265.jpg |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally The manual is very basic; totally functional, but not the best. It's an RTR so there's not much in the way of instructional steps... One of the only things it tells you to do is cut this little plastic corner off. I can't really figure out why. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...7992c1ef32.jpg |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally I really like the stance it has out of the box. It's a bit taller in the front and a bit shorter in the rear. Love the gull-wing arms! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...30025f351f.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...67615ae54a.jpg |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally The suspension travel is badass. The shocks feel great; extremely smooth out of the box. When you drop the chassis on the bench, the front has a bit of bounce back. It actually looks nice and scale but I might try some heavier fluids in the front shocks. Spring rate seems good for the stock weight. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...6725e39d01.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8373fadcb9.jpg |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally I plugged a pack in and realized the the gear mesh was horribly loose. Then I noticed the motor was pretty loose as well... The upper chassis brace makes getting to the motor a bitch. Lessons learned... It's always fun discovering the quirks of a new chassis. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...68bcc2a808.jpg |

Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally The rtr servo isn't too terrible, but I'm used to a bit more speed... Savox 1258 it is... Both the stock servo and the savox use a 25t spline. So I just put the stock servo saver on the savox 1258. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...7be1ad2896.jpg |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Did you get that on eBay? |

Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Very interestings chassis. How it's comparied to xv-01 ? To the first sight, looks like TT-02. Does it have diffs like xv-01 ? |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Quote:
The XXXR comes with ball diffs front and rear as opposed to the xv-01 that uses gear diffs. This gear diff should work on the XXXR ... |

Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally The car from left to right... XV-01 with a VW polo R from monkeyracing.cz. ... Rallylegends chassis with a fiat body .... MST XXXR |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Thanks, which chassis do you like best and why? |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Quote:
The MST is new for me. I like it a lot so far. Excluding bigger cars like DRX and WR8, the MST is the best RTR rally kit out there. No doubt about that. It's a competitive little car for our style of racing. And it's only $300 RTR... |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally I'm thinking of getting this. I've owned two xv's, a pro and a long damper kit. Would this feel like a downgrade and do you think the ball diffs are functional? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk |
Re: Bvrc's MST XXX Rally Quote:
Overall this car is really nice. I wouldn't call this car a downgrade from an xv01. It's certainly different though. |
