Same here. It’ll probably be a winter build for me. Now to start buying some hop ups.

Thanks for the sale alert, Steve. You got me hooked on Tamiya rally cars.

Got the Beetle and the MK.II done with a Quattro on order. LOL. MX-01 is a cool chassis. This was the first Tamiya kit I’ve done since the Blackfoot back in the late 80’s.

FWIW....Yeah Racing has a set of shocks that work well on the MF-01. Very nice shocks and very tunable (not that this will be a performance machine....). While these say "on road" the 55mm ones are what you need for this chassis. Just use the stock springs from the kit. The on-road springs that come with this are too short in my opinion. They make a 60MM off road set but those are too large for this chassis and end up limiting suspension travel.

^^ Looks great, nice work!

I'm up to three of these little guys now. One's a CRX mini, one's a 1/10 Porsche, and ones still the "rally beetle" but now new and improved with some 1.9 wheels and tires.

What Porsche? Is your a rally car or road car?

I just picked up the 911 Carrera RSR TT02 from my LHS yesterday. Also have a 45th Anniversary on order.

Looks great! I love the rally cars. I haven’t even opened mine lol. Been working on an XV01 and some Tt02’s. I have a set of those Yeah Racing shocks for my Tt02r. Maybe I’ll pick some up for the MF01X as well. They seem like a good deal for everything they come with but I’ve yet to build them. Still need to get bearings and I saw some front driveshafts I might buy. Glad you’re having fun with them!

On the right, still awaiting paint. TL01 LA arms and a TA02S body. Front one way in reverse for RWD and 4 wheel braking. Figured the rear motor and AWD was perfect for a Porsche build.

Nice cars! Could you share a pic of the beetle with 1.9’s? Sounds cool and I want to see it.

It now has HPI Pirell tires on more rally looking wheels mounted up, but otherwise looks the same
