Why do all repairs have to be made on the clock?

Yeah but its allowed per USRCCA Rules, so its a legit question.

Sacco, in big comps it very difficult to keep track of drivers, and how long they have been off the course.

Besides the 1 minute deduction for off course repair means your not finishing the course 90% of the time anyway. Don't let this one psych you out before you even get there...it really not a big deal

I would think its probably more of a time issue. With the amount of people waiting, and then trying to stop the clock, then get back into line to try to get the last couple of gates would add even more wait time. When there were stories that people were running courses with flash lights at the last donner comp, maybe getting things done quicker would be best. Its not really fair that the last guys have to run in the dark.

I would feel bad for, say a LCQ competitor, who drives/flies all the way to the comp, only to pay his money and break on the first course. they would be done.

I pride myself and even preach that you should show up comp day and have your $hit in tip top shape. I am just looking out for other peoples best interest that they may not think of.

Just to be clear. If a "Driver" were to break on the first course that person could, if able to repair the rig on course with the time running. (I have seen some pretty amazing on the clock repairs before.) But even if the breakage was such that it could not be fixed within the time limit, the "Driver" could still fix the rig at his/her leisure and go on to run the other three courses.

I love ya Fish, but I respectfully DISAGREE. Too many courses running as hard you can.
