MUST KNOW EVENT INFO: August 26-30th
If there are any changes in the competitions information, or itinerary, the changes will be listed on this post in RED.

UPDATE: 8/11/09

The Pro-line / Axial WC is only 16 days away. Below is a list of must know info:

LCQ Info:
40 LCQ drivers will now me taken to Saturday’s world finals.

Due to our economy only 36 USRCCA Invite drivers were able to make this event.

LCQ drivers, come out and show the world what you’re made of.

2. Registration deadline:

151 drivers have signed up for the event as of 8/10/09. Generally the last few weeks’ registration picks up. We would like to remind everyone signups close for all classes on August 20th, at 10:00am.

3. T-shirt deadline:

All drivers signing up after August 12th will receive a large or X-large t-shirt for there entry. Those sizes will be given away on a first come first serve basis at tech. We have not received a shirt size for the following people.

Cory Owenburg, Cameron Jones, Tim graham.

4. NEW! Rock Rides:

Have you ever ridden in a real rock crawler? Would you like to know what it feels like to drive 50 degrees vertical or horizontally?

You will love this. Team CKRC is not just a RC crawling team. We have drivers that run the Werock and Calrocs full size crawling series.

On Saturday and Sunday, our full size team will be giving rides to anyone who has the “balls” to sit in the passenger seat and hit some of the great crawling Donner ski ranch has to offer. If you have never experienced what a competition crawler can do, now is your chance!

(P.S) It is the passenger’s responsibility to clean the passenger area after riding. Please note, the drivers will not be bringing diapers or barf bags.

CKRC’s full size rock crawling team is the 2009’ Calrocs Super Mod Season champions.

Derek Trent.“2009 Calrocs Super mod class season winner”

Dustin emick, “2009 Calrocs Super mod class runner up”

John Hall, “2009 Calrocs and Werock Unlimited class Pro driver”

Joe (The Toe) Magliano “2009 Calrocs winning Spotter”

No judges needed!
The USRCCA / BPRCA has provided experienced judges and a head marshal. We take pride in fair competitions and believe that winning should be determined by driving, NOT JUDGING.

RULES:

All world championship competitors must follow the 2009 USRCCA rules and guidelines with the following 5 amendments.

For a direct link to the rules please click below:

http://usrcca.com/rules2008.pdf

PLEASE NOTE: These are the 5 amendments:

(1), Each driver will receive 1 warning per wheelbase for a back up.
If the vehicle rolls back less than 1" it is considered a warning. If it does it again, even less than an inch, that will be counted as a back up. Anything over a 1" back up is an intentional reverse and no warning will be called. You can only receive 1 warning per wheelbase of your rig.
Example: You are negotiating a climb and have already received your warning. Anytime you back up or rock from that warning, it is considered a back up until you have cleared the imaginary line where your warning was called. You must be 1 complete wheelbase past your warning to receive another free warning.

(2), There is NO repairs off-course. All repairs must be done on-course and on the clock.

(3), As in years past there is NO progressing a gate with 20 MAXIMUM points.

(4) Each course judge now has a tech station. If your rig is out of spec when its your turn to run, you will receive a 50 maximum point penalty and the judge will move on to the next competitor. NO EXCEPTIONS. Make sure your rig is set up properly to the 2009’ USRCCA rules. Tech stations will be open all day for personal inspection.

(5) Competition, called to the line rule. When the competitor in front of you starts, you should have your car in place and ready to go as soon as he is done. As soon as the judge is finished with the previous driver, they will start the stopwatch and give you 30 seconds to start your course. If you have not started your course within those 30 seconds, you will receive a 50 for that course and the judge will move on to the next competitor. The BPRCA will try to be as fair as possible with this ruling, but everyone needs to understand that there are 160 competitors and we have to finish in a timely manner

LOCATION:

Donner ski ranch
Norden, California, 95724

First and fore most, the competition site is approx ¼ mile up the mountain and has spectacular views.

We have no issue with drinking, but for picture reasons, Axial Racing is supplying cozies to each driver at the event for the beverage of your choice.

There are no cars & trucks allowed up the mountain. Polaris ranger type vehicles are allowed with a pit pass. As far as planning for your day, please bring all your crawlers, tools, food and drinks up with you in the morning. CKRC crawlers will have a buggy with trailer and 3 Polaris rangers there between 7:00 am and 8:00am to bring your crawlers and supplies up the hill. We will be picking up supplies up at the axial booth. Don’t be late; this year there will be no late transportation, Period!

Donner Ski Ranch is enforcing the Following Rules:

2-for-1, Fun for All Spectators: This is a spectator friendly competition, so spectators are encouraged to come and join in on the fun. You’ll want to bring the wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, kids, and all of your friends. Spectator wristbands are $5.00 per day or $15.00 for all 4 days. Wristbands can be purchased at the event and will allow entrance into the property

• No dirt bikes or quads.
• No cars or trucks.
• No beer bottles or glass on the mountain.
• No ice chest allowed soft pack coolers are acceptable.
If anyone is found violating any of the above, Donner will be escorting these people off the mountain, and you will not be allowed to return.

All drivers will receive a wristband for the weekend. Anyone who is in your group who is not competing will have to pay $5.00 per day or $15.00 for all 4 days. The bands are available at the front gate.

Destination:

For those drivers flying, Reno, Nevada and Sacramento, California are the nearest airports.
International competitors have the choice to fly into the US and then to either airport or may choose to fly into San Francisco International airport and drive from there. The drive from San Francisco is approx 3.5 hours.

For more info on Reno’s airport please visit. http://renoairport.com/.

Sacramento’s airport www.sacairports.org/int/index.html

Rental cars from any airport can be found relatively cheap here:
www.carrentals.com

LODGING:

$35.00 per night per additional adult (13 and older),
$25.00 per night for additional child (12 under),

CAMPING:

Donner ski ranch has a $10.00 camping fee. They have a large parking lot across from the main park and it is open to anyone. In years past the camping lot has been the best bet for cost and fun factor. Also, be aware that the camping lot is not an actual camping site. It’s actually huge dirt lot.

Please note that Donner ski ranch is approx 25 minutes from Truckee, CA and approx 1 hour from Reno. There are no stores in the near vicinity of the event and it is advised to be prepared.

ON-SITE AMMENITIES

Donner ski ranch has an on site restaurant and bar, as well as a huge parking lot for people looking to bring an RV or camp-out and stay for the parties.

I am digging the LCQ Comp.

I know several GOOD drivers that had some bad luck this season, and they now have another chance to join the big show.

NOTE: Your entry fee for LCQ carries over to Worlds is you make it.

I highly suggest staying at the Donner Ski Ranch Condos. Price was $300 for the AWCC and that was a condo with 3 double beds and a couch, two bathrooms with showers and a full kitchen. That's 7 spots if you care to spoon with your buddies. If you just have 4 the cost is only $75 per person.

My total food, drink, and board cost for AWCC with 3 people was only $140.

We were told that we'd have 4 invites as one of the larger states (TX) for all the classes.
Does that still hold true?

And I'm confused for the tickets/registration for 1.9.
There are 50 spots for 1.9 and 50 for super right?
Tickets for USRCCA drivers go on sale on the 21st, but you also say the registration goes on sale on the 17th and when it's full it's full.

Well what about the people that qualified for a national invite in 1.9 or super? Do they get first crack at the 50 spots or is it just totally open?

Drivers who's clubs were running Super or 1.9 classes and have drivers who followed all the rules and worked hard to qualify should have first crack at buying a ticket. It's only right.

I have no intention of driving 1.9, and I'm sure Supers wont sell out fast, but on the odd chance that it does and I dont get a spot after striving for it all season and earning my spot...I'll be PISSED

Whats the deal?

Wow...that's an intense amount of planning. Looks like this event is in good hands. I dig the rule changes and new 2.2 format. Running the winners through that many courses is going to be absolutely brutal on equipment...but I like it!

could I get a little clarification...

Im sure it was explained someplace but there are 50 threads and countless posts...

I am a club qualified 2.2 driver. I won an event or placed high enough in a clubs point series. My name is on the list in the thread Fish posted. Will I need to compete in the LCQ qualifier on Thursday?

from what I read...If your club qualified the LCQ doesnt really pertain to you. Instead of just having buy ins to fill the remaining spots after the invites are done...they are having the LCQ to narrow it down to "the best of the buy-in" to fill the remaining spots. i think.

if theres 10 spots left they take the top ten out of the lcq drivers.
