This isn't usrcca.com, if john wants to post stuff on a different website that's his prerogative. It's the day after the event, he said scores would be posted today, on his choice of site. Seems like a reasonable timeframe to me.
I was making it known that there was a source of getting the information, it just took a couple extra clicks, which weren't even necessary since it was cross posted to this thread.
It isn't a week or two later, it's a day, how on earth is that unreasonable to get scores up? I'm on of the most impatient people I know and wen I think that's just ridiculously impatient.

Just a quick observation..... whats the difference between a link from this site to a google doc and a link from this site to a different web site?

We are all intelligent adults. We are all trying to figure out how to make our hobby successful. Some new people have come to the table with new ideas. What's wrong with trying them out? Absolutely nothing...... and if we figure out it's not really working we go to a new idea. I'd pretty much say that's the basis and the foundation for crawling from the beginning. How else would people be working on a Motor on Wheel design, or trying to make their rig look as scale as possible?..... Trial and Error.

The importance of this site is not lost on those who come here, but there's still an audience we're not reaching. Some of them are on FB, others on instagram, twitter, or google plus.

You haven't seen me post anything of value anywhere else, and maybe not here either I've been far more involved on the forum today than other outlets, and will rip the final scoring table from rcorva and share it here first. I can't change that we created our driver database on another site, it's not possible to do that sort of thing within RCC.

Even people that have chosen to distance themselves from any involvement still care about the future of the sport. You know who you are, post liker.

In a side note with scoring, there was a pretty slick barcode system happening and I didn't have time to ask how that worked with a little more detail. Can you describe the system a little bit John?

Got a few minutes of Internet on the flight, so I'll describe it best I can. Its looking like we will post up official scoring tomorrow, I can tell jonathan needs some time to decompress before coding the site to pick out overall winner. It's my fault for not ensuring that wasn't ready, he thought we could just glance at the winners and determine overall, which is a fair assumption when top drivers dominate in every class.

. Each driver is assigned a barcode number for the event, and each course also has a barcode which includes the class data. Since we had judges on course, the scoresheet had course number and drivers put barcodes on as they drove that course. So scoring entry into the database was a scan of course barcode, driver barcode, and then entry of score. Very fast and efficient. We use a variation for order updates and internal process tracking at holmes hobbies now.

It can be adapted easily for various scoring methods and judging setups. Racing , crawling, motoGP, disc golf, etc. All you would need is a usb scanner and the software, which also can inject the scores into rcorva at the click of a button. Pretty slick work he has been doing for the sake of the sport. I don't want to know how many programming hours I've paid into it we are trying to also integrate transponders into it, but that is a very large undertaking.
