Re: Worlds 2017

Depends on who's hosting.
If it's in Europe again, you'll likely know something just after the new year. If it's in the US, notifications might be as late as Apr based on the previous couple of years.

Re: Worlds 2017

We have two consecutive world champs in CA. The EU needs to come over here and get em.... if they can.

FYI 2017 Rc Rock Crawling Championship is already in the works..... We're finalizing Location and fingerscrossed we might see some forum restructuring in the competition section.

Re: Worlds 2017

Hello,

I gave the idea this week-end .
Make the world every two years alternating with the nationals of each country.

I talked to this pilot in France.
The idea seems their good.
What do you think about ?

A biennial event values the Championship

Advantages to this option:
1 / More time to prepare a beautiful planetary event.
2 / More time to find money for each pilot.
3 / Even more important in people's minds.

Re: Worlds 2017

I guess a better question is WHO will be running it, Will Holmes be passing worlds off to Samu, I think he should since from what I have heard and seen he didn't help much or nor did he give any prizes for worlds, You would think he would of giving some prizes to his own event. I think it is only fare that Samu continue to run worlds IMO.

Samu and his whole family is all about the hobby and trying to grow this hobby we all love.
He did an amazing job putting worlds on this year in France. My hat goes off to him for the job he and his helpers did. "thumbsup""thumbsup"

I have heard Australia for the Next worlds, I think Australia would be a great place for world in either 2017 or 2018.
2018 would be better IMO to give people time to save up for it.

Have the RC Championship ever year in the states.

Just my 2 cents

What is everyone else's thoughts on this?

Samu is perfect!
I do not know what others have done, I can not speak.
Autralia ........ what a great idea.
It would be good if more international actors speak here.
I feel that few are really concerned.

Re: Worlds 2017

I think it would be best for Holmes to give it all up to Jslick or Samu and let them resurrect it, cause it aint worth anything at this point. The Championships had nothing to do with Holmes and him running the event, just the good core guys putting on what should have been done. Im in for Australia, sounds like a good Worlds event!"thumbsup"

Re: Worlds 2017

australia sounds good for sure, i stayed 6 month there 25 years ago, backpacking traveling on est cost, and i can say that i didn't see a lot, it's nearly big like the states with 1/3 french population,

it is something to like to go some where
it is something else to to know how is going to be and what the country is ready to do for that
how many drivers will fly there, so how big it will be

i think it will be logical to keep the objective to getting better every times

so maybe it will be good to follow the Olympic games system for example
each country build the project and a jury vote for the best project in regard of the objective

making everything easier for drivers should help to go bigger
the crawler village+ restaurant + food-truck we had for the last world's was really good to give contact opportunity and a nice ambiance
it should be at least the minimum for the future
(no wasting time to shopping food or separate people early in different hotel make those few days totally different)

Just FYI 2017 Championship will be in Northern California/Northwestern Nevada. I spent time yesterday scouting a pretty epic spot. Have details to work out with land owners/opperators to figure out permissions/permitting.

Perhaps JRH could update the masses on what's happening with USRCCA-> RCORVA. Way too much has been left hanging.

Curcal 10-30-2016 06:42 PM

Re: Worlds 2017

Unless otherwise told so. The hobby is moving forward, and USRCCA / RCORVA are no longer sanctioning bodies... IMO, since theres no such thing as sanctioned comps or clubs anymore it doesnt really matter. The only time it matters would be if there was decision to make a change the current rule sets.

Re: Worlds 2017

Personally, I think if Mr.Holmes doesn't get in touch with the people mention above about the comp seen soon like ASAP, I think these people need to take the ball and run with it and leave Holmes behind. As IMO John has left the crawler seen in Limbo, with his lack of involvement in keeping things organised.

The hobby needs to keep moving forward, As mention above people are already considering USRCCA/RCOVRA dead.

We need people in charge that want to led the way, People like Jake, Samu, Jslick, Curcal to name just acouple.
Guys like this are trying to push are hobby forward and bring new people into it not kill it with no information or leaving thing to the last minute to be announced.

Good conversation guys lets keep it going, talking like this is good for the hobby.
