Default Culetto's Bully Havoc

I was already running the prototype Havoc when i was asked to join the JPCustomRC's team. This build is the Production Version Havoc chassis which only has a few minor changes from the prototype.

Build List:
JP Custom RC's Havoc chassis
RC4WD Bully Comp Axles (yes i still love mine and ill clown wheel all over your ass, LOL)
Leaky Losi 4inch crawler shocks
55t Integy Motors (Soon to be replaced with a pair of Warrior 2's)
Vanquish DH Pro Comp's
Twin CC Sidewinder ESC's
CC BEC (7.0v)
Nomadio Sensor

(Sorry for the bad pictures, all camera phone)

The production havoc is on the top. As you can see the changes were minor and based on the rear end of the chassis. Its a little shorter to accomidate larger gearboxes and run a much wider variety of shocks.

The basic chassis is a typical TVP. Nothing difficult. The skid is from my prototype and is a standard 2 incher, the lower arms are Kamikaze.

The chassis will fit the rear axle in the normal orientation but i like it reversed for the clearance. To start im going to use these Leaky Losi's. I love how smooth they are but i hate wiping the oil off my axles after every course, lol. Again no drama here, the rear end just bolts right up. The rear link mounts on the bullies are one hole down, two holes up, with the shocks mounted in the upper holes. For the top of the shocks i started with the top row, innermost holes. I have no limiters in these shocks atm so the are full length and i wanted the truck as low as possible.

The front axle was just as simple. Bolt it right on, no mess, no drama. (ignore the red velcro from my old body mounts). The links for the torsion front end are 55mm delrin with traxxas revo ends. At the moment i have a 5995tg in for steering because my 5990 robot servo is out for repair. The steering and drag links are all custom stainless. Again the link/shock mounts are in the one down, two up configuration with the upper torsion links in the uppermost holes at the axle and the very end holes on the chassis.

A little rummaging through my girlfriends nail polish and i found orange flourescent. Gotta represent!

Good Start.... I've got my Rear axle the other way, but you have been liking yours flipped so well... I might end up switching it.

ok now that the axles are on and the links are done....

wheelbase check .... JACKPOT!

I run all my electronics as modular as possible. My esc's, reciever, and BEC are all on this little tray. Its just a scrap piece of lexan about 1 7/8th wide. The electronics are mounted with velcro and two servo mounting blocks to secure it to the chassis.

I think this is going to be too much articulation for my style of driving. I might have to limit the shocks or switch to a shorter overall shock.

I have to figure out a body on this build.

Nice...I have to say that MOA are starting to grab my interest...axial version, because the clod axles just don't do it for me anymore. I like that chassis...all delrin right?

To help, rebuild them and put a liberal coating of Associated Green Slime on the o-rings in the cartridge. This helps seal them up more. Still not perfect, but alot better.

Its cool. I like the clearance in front of the axle and i havent really seen any downside to it.

There are lots of choices in MOA axles now. Even the 'miniclod' tubes make them narrow and viable. Yes, the chassis is all delrin.

I'll give that a shot. Im already thinking about switching them out to something shorter.

With running the shorter Losi tires... You might find the downside. Sometimes when backing up you will hit it, or on step inclines it might drag. The bigger tires allow much better angles.

Ya i found it today. We did some test-n-tune at a new site (pics up in a little while) and i landed on the rear motor and jammed the gear mesh so tight it wouldnt turn, lol. Ill be looking into flipping it until the new losi comp crawlers come out. All in all it did very well. Ran a few lines that the other rigs couldnt today. Ill put up a full review in a little while once i have the pictures.

As mentioned we did a little testing today. I switched out to some short kyosho shocks that were on my prototype to give me more of a baseline on the front. The balance is RIGHT where i want it, just need to get about a half inch more articulation out of it and ill be all set but it carries perfectly. I'm going to have some setup sheets up later tonight for those who are just getting their Havoc in the mail.

And one more shot just to show you how we get down at test-n-tune when the crawler packs are dead. 16.8v in the Summit about 15 feet from the edge to the bottom of the wash.

Big thanks to Dieselfuel for the pics. Hes epic with that Nikon

Sounds about right with Losi's... Mine with Chisels is 3-1/8in and with X-Locks it's 3-1/4in...

As soon as I get some Comp Claws in... I'll let you know.
