Default My Strange Bully

Hello,

At the beginning I wanted manufacture a stick, but I had problems with my rods end. Thus finally I made that...

The profile aluminum being fragile, the links helps to solidify the unit.

Here supports of rod end and the link which I had manufactured for the stick.

Default Same idea!

Looks good so far. That's about how I pictured a Stick chassis.

Very cool! Looks like you will have to get used to a little axle walk but the ground clearance you got is a great tradeoff!

looks interesting.

i bet if you double pinned your spine's connection to the axles you could loose those links and the axle wrap. (which i think is what is causing it to begin with...)

and as far as your aluminum channel being "fragile" i wouldn't worry about that, you'd be amazed at the resiliancy of most aluminum alloys....

Hello,

Thank you for your comments and remarks. For the moment my project is stopped, I await all electronics and it delays to arrive… :-(

For the moment I will make test in the state, and I will test to make a true pimp cane later.

Hello,

Some news of the project. Today the last parts finally arrived (4 weeks to arrive ). First assembly to test the coherence of the unit. The assembly does not cause any problem, good news :-P

Some picture :

The first test are very conclusive, but remains some point to be corrected.
The rear motor hangs too much and to better synchronize the two ESC.

I hope for poster quickly a video.

Yes, In first I wanted to make a stick, but I did not have good rod ends. I replaced the backbone by a U section aluminum and arranged that!!

Hello,

Small update of my strange Bully project.

I test various configurations for the rear axle. Finally I stopped on this configuration, with the swivelled rear axle of 40° approximately.

Click the image to open in full size.

I could removed the rear links, but I keep the front links for more rigidity.

I also modified the radio RC4WD. I open the radio and switched wire of Steering and Throttle. Result, I have the 4 following options:
  • Normal (the 2 engines turn in the same direction),
  • Front dig,
  • Rear dig,
  • humm, still a strange thing (the 2 engines turn in opposite direction)
The position with the 2 engines turn in opposite direction, makes it possible to turn on the spot, well better than with a dig

To follow...

It is a channel section bought with the simple store of hardware.

Size is 1cm x 1cm (1mm thickness). Type is simple Aluminum (I do not know his quality). It is really light and limit in solidity but I did not break only one chassis yet, but I try to control it very soft/sweet

Kinda. A torsion is where the whole chassis flexes. With a stick, you still have 2 shocks that flex.

I really like the torsion man! Looks good
