Okay so I am going to take the leap into MOA. So I am going back and forth between these two axles. I am leaning more towards the bully just because of the price, but what I am wondering is what is the main difference between these two axles? Are parts too hard to get for the bully? Or am I even really going to need to get any extra parts with the new bully? Besides the axles what else should I plan on purchasing to make these axles "bulletproof"? Thanks for any input guys. Would post this is the berg section too, but I know that most that would respond there are way to biased, where as a lot of you guys seem to have worked with both of these axles.

thats what makes the bullys the best. they are ready out of the box. bergs you should plan on buying at least 3 sets of axial stub axles, drilling the tubes for a servo mount, buying lockouts for the rear and rims that will only fit berg axles (the bullys use a more common axial offset, and drilling the gearboxes to clock the rear up off the ground. You also have to buy pinions for the bergs and they are metric only.

I don't have any personal experience with the Bergs but I'm totally happy with my Bullys. I have only had them a couple weeks but they have been through a beating. The only thing I can think you need to get with them in a steering kit. So far it looks like no one else has had any probs with these out of the box strength wise since the v4 cvds are in them. I know many guys running bergs and have been through axles front and rear, lockers, and started running modded axial stub axles to strengthen them. Bullys are cheaper right off the bat and comp ready out of the box. The only thing I can think of as a downside to the Bullys is the are pretty heavy and some guys like to run light rigs. Are you in Auburn CA? If your in the area, Swing by the Hobbytown in Folsom sometime. I always bring mine in to work if you want to check them out.

Right on thanks for the responses. And yeah I am in Auburn, Ca. I'll have to swing by some time I have yet to be to that location. Now I don't have any experience with either of these axles, but for those that do, how does the quality of work compare? Housing wise, do the screws seem to strip out easily or any other problems with either of them?

Well since this is the Bully Section I will say go with the Bully's I went with the Bully's because of the narrower width and stuff like the high clearance knuckles, rear straight axles and beefier drivetrain. I am not krazy with them but they have held up fine to what I have thrown at them so far. And now with the Bully II's out and being cheaper it almost makes no sense to NOT go with Bully's!!!!!

Hello, i'm a "MOA sissy" too can pick up two sets of bullys. I'm driving the bullys now for three weeks and are very satisfied with them, means i can beat on them and they don't cry a bit, straight out of the box. Greetings from Germany Frank

I have a Berg, and a local rc crawler has the Bully. His only advantage is the axle width. HUGE ADVANTAGE come gate time. my berg seems like 3/4" wider and I'm too into scalers to spend $100 on offset wheels..... I play with toy Trucks and cars just for fun BULLY

I have looked thru the specs on the RC4wd site and they don't state what pinions comes with the axle. Can anybody shed any light on this?

They only state "pinion included" on the site with no reference to the tooth count. I am sold and will be going with the bully's. My only concern is what I hear about the slop in the knuckles.. | |

long as you keep the knuckle bolts loc tighten in then the small amount of slop should not be an issue...

I have been going back and fourth between buying a Bully Crawler or a Newage Berg. The only thing that bothers me with the Bully is the 4-8 days just for order processing from rc4wd. If i do break something I haven't already purchased I for sure don't want to wait 4-8 days for the order of replacement parts to get processed much less shipped and then transit time in shipping. When I order hobby items online most places I order from ship within 48 hours the majority process an order and ship it out the same or following day. I am going to order one or the other by Monday still haven't decided which one yet. Whats everyones experience with ordering both bully and berg items ?
