Default I took the plunge,,,GX2 CHASSIS UPGRADE

Hi everyone,

Well I jumped on the M.O.A. bandwagon as of last night. I ordered a set of Bully 2's. It says my order is still pending. Hopefully that's a good thing.

I have a new chassis in the works too.

I can't wait to get my axles and get started on a new build.

Good luck with your build.

Be careful with discussing your website and making a chassis all in one post.

previous post edited

my point in my previous post was that i am working on a new chassis for my axles,,,all new skid design,,, new 3-link design,,well actually not new just built a little different,,,,new side plates,,, and my own servo mount

i'm also workin on a relay setup to fight the clod stall effect,,,and incorporate a dig set up some how...my main concern is the clod stall though

later guys,,,sorry for the confusion in the first post

i too just took the plunge as u send, and was also concerned with getting my axles. it took a while too get a response back from rc4wd. but it only took 8 or 9 days from ordering to them arriving on my front door. i used the cheapest delivery option too. which seems to be par for the course, at least in expeirence.

Default Auotmatic anti-stall

This is what I am thinking about the relay system to eliminate the stall effect.

Hopefully the lower "3-link" works out alright. I think it might hinder articulation more than the AX-10's uppers.

Well all of my research says it will work,,and the major hope is that it will solve the clearance issue of linkages around the gear case and motors. My mock up didn't show any problems but we will see for absolute sure when the parts get done at the cnc machine. My 3 link on my custom shafty works really well,,standard set up and ofcourse reversed from the "Razor".

Code454,,Thanks,,,I did see a couple of designs on real trucks that were similar but they had a welded tube set up,,looked like links triangulated and welded together where they met under the vehicles' chassis,,they also used a pivoting tube instead of a ball end where the member met the chassis,,I'm hoping it will also help with the inevitable problem with the chassis edges hanging up on the rocks as it passes over them....The upper links will need to be really short due to the overall length of the lower link,,,I'm planning on covering the chassis and lower links with Teflon or Tyvek.

The difference with using the fixed one piece lower link too it that it should help with "swing steer" because of the axle actually pivoting at the center point of the chassis instead of pivoting at the upper links,,,again this is something we will have to see for absolute sure when the parts get done and built together.

Default design in the works

I sent the C.A.D. over to the machinist and he says all is good and thinks everything should be ready by or before next weekend.

I was having concerns about mounting the shocks. I don't want them rubbing the tires or cases/motors. I think i'll use 8mm collars on the linkage arms. I will probably have to drill and tap a second hole in each one to bolt on the shocks, and use the original set screw hole to secure the collar to the arm/s. That way too I can adjust the shocks forward and backward on the arm to set up the suspension the way I want it.

One thing though,,,,,droop or sprung? I know quite a few Bully rigs are set up both ways,,Input guys?

I have no preference on droop vs sprung. I've run both ways, and I dertermine it once I see what sort of ride height I'm going to have with the chassis. Currently, I'm running a bully2 tuber w/ a full droop setup, and I like it very much. I also built a similiar looking (though a bit different) tuber for a buddy's Berg, and it's full sprung. I can drive it just as well as my bully. They both have areas where one excells over the other.

I'm actually running full droop on my tlt axled crawler and I do like it and I am leaning toward full droop on the Ockham's Razor chassis with the Paradox links,,but I'm not fully decided yet
