thats uper shaved, they look wicked great job, how much weight did it end up shaving in total from stock? |

I have not weighed them since the shave...but I shaved two set's of rears...the B1 aluminum and a set of B2 Cast...the cast shaved is STILL heavier then a unshaved B1...but I can tell just buy holding them side by side that it did save some grams....(my rig is still a pig but it seems to claw best when fat lol) I will grab some scale shots soon as I get a scale. |
Hey just curious how you like the new panthers? I am running the white rovers now and it looks like you were running the same. Are the panthers better than the rovers? Pros/Cons? |

I wanted to show this shot and forgot to post it...there is still lots of meat on the axles tube...time will tell how hard of a hit they will take. I think it will hold up well.8) http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...r/IMG_0305.jpg also not pictured..but I flattened the axle tube flange so the bolts sit flat. |
They look great but I hope yours are not the cast ones.......I dont see them holding up to much abuse. |
Wow. Thats a great idea! Im really watching this one. I would do it on my first gen bullys to lighten them up and there is a alot of meat left. Interested in doing another set? |

I got more spares so if it breaks oh well at least I will know....hahah BTW I have the alumnuim one mounted right now. there is more meat then you think...I would be surprised if the axle tube broke in a big tumble... Quote:

Very cool. I like to see so somebody try something new 8) |

You got me tempted to send you mine if you don't mind lol |
Nice work! Will be doing this for mine as soon as they show up. Thinking I might just make new alum tubes for the rear of mine though. Are you able to chuck up the front tubes or is it not possible due to the knuckle mounts? |
Hello, very nice craftmanship "thumbsup" ...but please don't get me wrong, is it really necessary? Greetings Frank |

guys dont want super heavy there should be adjustment in the weight in your tires but to much weight over all in the chassis and diffs some guys dont want so they shave where ever they can |
That looks right much better. "thumbsup" |
Won't it be weaken a bit by all those shavings? Maybe that's the point of RC4wd making them thick and heavy, to be indestructible. |
Those tubes are too thick lol, theres a bunch of meat left tha you can't see. The alloy rc4wd used on these is tough, but heavy. I will be very suprised if these bust. |
RC4WD DID make these axles bomb proof...I cant see EVER breaking or needing replacement rear axle tubes...I could tell from looking at them that they were way thicker then they needed to be...yes I removed tons of material..but I really don't feel I sacrificed any strength.8) as for "needing" to do this mod.....NO most guys don't need or want to do this...but I can tell you the lighter my rear gets the better my rig drives..i'm happy with the mod EVEN more after 3 battery pack this afternoon...I can pull and drag ,lift my rear axle over lots of rocks and ledges now.. |
i can see the benifits of shaveing the rear bt the front may not need it esp if you not running weight in the front of your rig this will even add the the front biased (sp) front rig. great mod if you start doing this for our bully members add my name to the list i would love to take some weight off the back of my rig :Dif not would you be so kind as to send me some mesurements of the tubes after you have taken off a bit of the "fat" from the tubes so i can talk to one of my club members and see if he could help me out again awsome mod i will keep checking in to see what else you come up with |
I am digging this. Great little Mod. I bet the lathe was much easier than the dremel. |
