Default Battery positioning...

I've tried a quick search but couldn't find a definitive answer. Would it be better to have my battery mounted on the front axle or on the front part of the skid plate right behind the front motor? I guess it's unsprung vs sprung weight from what I'm learning. Thanks for any advice!

Definitely better having the battery on the front axle. To me having the least amount of weight in the chassis is best, just as you said its sprung weight. It also helps because the weight is more forward. I will admit the battery would be a lot lower on the skid to help cog, but then you have more weight in chassis. Having the smallest and lightest battery on the front axle is ideal, to keep cog down.

Thanks man and appreciate the quick response! Going to utilize that space for an esc then and stick the battery on top of the axle. Etter get to work on rewiring again haha kind of starting to like soldering.....
