Default New Beetlejuice Build

Specs:

Beetlejuice Chassis V1
Losi 4" Shocks w/white springs
Havoc front links
T1ERC High Clearance Rear Links
Dual FXR's
Tekin 55t's
CC BEC
Hitec 7950
Vanquish SLW .7's
Proline 2 Stage Foam
White Rovers

First off after receiving this chassis through trade here. I realized either the previous owner modded it or the original Beetlejuice was not in current spec at 3" wide. It was at 2.5". So not having any delrin, and not wanting to spend the money on some. I went and picked up some 1/4 nylon spacers at a local hardware store. I placed one at each end of each cross brace and was now within specs.

Second the skid that was sent with it was too narrow for the V1 it was the V2 or V3 1 3/4 skid. The side plates appeared to have been heated and attempted to be bent in, but not completely like the newer chassis are. So I didn't want to heat it up and bend them in further for fear it would break or take too much of my height away and not be in spec. Didn't want to squeeze it around the small skid so I used my 2" havoc skid and it worked perfectly.

Lastly I drilled some new holes in the side plates for the rear of the skid to sit higher and at an angle. Then dremeled off about 1/4" from the rear angling down to the front.

Sizes:

Width at top of chassis 3"
Width at skid 2 3/8"
Wheelbase 12 3/16"
Wheelbase compressed 12 3/8"
Front TW 10.5"
Rear TW 10.25"
GC Front skid 3 1/8"
GC Rear skid 3 3/8"

On to the pics.

I like the green Dew panels too. Nice build.

Any way you can mount the battery off the upper links and a little more forward?

Thanks,

Yeah I need to find a better spot for the battery. I can slide it further forward, just need to make sure it doesn't hit the shocks. Maybe come up with something else have to play with it a bit.

Ah yeah, I see the lipo is kinda on the WIDE side. Enough to cause you some clearance issues. I run much smaller packs....3S/25C 800-850mah. New they are only $10.60 each.

How do you like the .7 SLW's??

I havn't ran the whole rig much, but testing around the apartment I like em. Full stock steering epa's set to the max no rubbing on links or shocks. Only down side is getting the weight up front I would like. Both axles are the lightweight versions. The batteries are a bit big, might pick up some smaller ones. Those fit perfect in the skid of my Havoc with some hanging off the front end, but not so great on this one.

Those are cans that I cut up. I actually mounted them on top of some old tupperware I had laying around that I cut to fit. Wanted to make it a bit firmer and not so flimsy.

I was thinking about doing a scaler with a red bull can for side plates,

Do they hold up or tear right off?
