| Lubing Bullys Before I make final assembly I am wondering if I need to lube other parts of the axles than just the motor pinion and main drive gear. RC4WD web site say this: "Important Note: The gears don't come pre-lubed. You will need to remove the front cover and use your preferred lubrication or part # X-0317 (Monster Lube)" By front cover plate I assume they are referring to the clear plastic plate that allows access for lubing. Thanks. |

Pretty much every 'industrial' grease for mechanic applications will work, you'll also be fine with vaseline or other petroleum based lubes. And you have to disassemble the whole axle to lube the gears.

Okay, thanks. Would have been nice to have a note in the package stating that you need to lube internal gears prior to use. Great product just lacking on documentation. Good thing I asked or I would have just been running them with lube on just the motor pinion gear. |

It's a good idea to use thread lock on all screws when you put the axles back together.
