Default Chevotafun's Bullied Reptile

Hey guys

After many hours of reading and drooling over these new RC4WD Bully2 Axles,
I have decide to make the switch from the xr to the bullies.

Going from my XR10 Chaotic smash at 4lbs 1oz

To the Bullied Reptile weight well we'll see where she lands
Aiming for the 4lbish mark

What I have coming-

Chassis- CK Reptile with there links
Diffs- RC4WD Bully2
Wheels- Nordic Crawler
Servo mount- Nordic Crawler
Battery Mount- Nordic Crawler
Electronic Mount- Nordic Crawler
Knuckle Weight Holder - Nordic Crawler
Knuckles Weight- RcBro
Ties- Narrowed VooDoo's (Gold)
Foam- CI
Axles- CreeperBob
Shocks- SCX-10

Servo- Hi-tech 7980
Bec- Castle
ESC- Holmes Hobbies BR Mini's
Motors- Holmes Hobbies puller 500 (crawl)
Radio- 4PL

Skins- Krawler Concepts
And a big bag of alum screws and nuts.

Now just waiting on parts to get here once all the parts get here I will start posting pic's

Can't wait to start piecing this together.
Hoping all parts will be here by next Friday.

Please post up any thoughts or suggestion you might have on this build,

Cheers
Mike

Nice! Do you narrow your VooDoos yourself? And how wide are the wheels you're using?

nothing wrong with staring at them
besides you still have to take them apart to look at the insides and grease them up

id recomend ky warming jelly so the bully2s will be comfy

I got my axles last night and first off they look awesome,
and sweet shirt too

But the one thing that stood out is the weight of these bad boys
holly crap there heavy :(
Compared to my xr diffs

I'm thinking i'll be around the 4.4lbs to 4.6lbs mark with just the weight diffence in axles
But time will tell.

What do you guys think of the steering these knuckles give you?
Enough or could it use more?

Any thoughts on how to shave some weight off these axles?
Guessing that milling them down is going to be the only option?

Now to fine a machinist that can pull this off

Anyone got any other idea's on weight savings?

You should see if Dlux can squeeze his Al shafts in the rear axle. They are tuff as nails and I think they are around 1oz lighter than any other shaft out. I bet he can get a ton of weight out of the gears, cases and tube also. He got 1.5oz out of each set of my super bully gears and 1.5oz out of each case! The guy is amazing with a mill and weight savings! I would be willing to bet he could get at least 2oz out of each axle, minimum.

I'll be watch the build. I wish I had money for a set of these axles. The more I see these threads popping up the more I want a set.

Yes I might just have to do that
Would love to see if he could adapt his alum shafts to this diff.

Got my bag of alum screw yesterday and got to work changing screws.
Still need to get the socket head screws tho,

Changed out the button heads and shed 12 grams off the front diff and 5 grams off the rear so far.

Now if only everything else would hurry up and get here :(

How much clock are you guys running on your knuckles?
fully clocked?
or one notch off full?
