Master Basher's second Bully build (bully 2)

Got real lucky and found a sweet deal from Ovalman on a chassis/links/shocks/smashed castle micro's and bec combo. I had to un smash the bec to change the settings and set it for 7.4v instead of 8volts, I wouldn't have done it for that small difference but he told me he thought the bec was set at 9volts and I didn't wanna put that on my servos. I also bought the wheels and tires from him separately, had to re glue a tire, but all in all I'd say I came out way ahead. I took his berg axles off (they were set up really sweetly, but I had my bully 2's that I was set on).

Here are the current specs:
hitec m7990 th on 7.4volts
bully 2 axles with bully knuckle weights
chassis:2013 moa pro comp by nordic crawler
integy 35t
dual castle micro sidewinders
castle bec wired directly to the servo
voodoo's with dual foams, they feel pretty soft, softer than another voodoo set up I bought
scx10 shocks with spring kit
bully steering setup with a racers edge dual clamping servo horn
caster set up one notch from full
Please help me to identify the chassis, I'm not sure what it is.
I made some quicky skins from 0.030" polycarbonate until I can get something custom going on graphix wise.

I just threw up a battery mount out of some home depot corner plastic until I can get my nordic crawler stuff here.

I'm really happy with side hill and climbing capability, the steering and caster is awesome, but there is one particular crawl/climb that I have to work really hard at duplicating that my old school berg could do with ease. I have a feeling it is because of the stiff blue springs.

The weight without battery is 4lb 2 oz. I'm using an 850maH 40c battery and even 1300maH battery at times. I'm liking the size and output of the 850. I tried a 450mah like some of the comp guys are using, but I'm not happy with it at all, and I watched several people not finish gate 10 at the ecc comp the other week for lack of battery power that were using 400ish batteries. That doesn't seem very smart to me.

Thanks for commenting!

I'm really really happy and excited about these bully 2 axles. These things are the best product value wise out there in my opinion.

My hand doesn't really look that deformed, it's lense aberration from how close the camera is.:lmao:

The gear box sound is better and more precise sounding than my xr10, berg, or ax10 axles. It sounds tight, no slop, really nice.

Pictured with my gf's foot and the rig that I bought her last weekend:

One thing though, it won't fit a plus sized servo without grinding a little bit of plastic away from the servo mounting hole plate on the servo. Not a big deal, but I have to grind away plastic on my $185 dollar servo to make it fit. The holes in the mount don't line up perfectly with a standard sized servo either. It's like they tried to shoot the gap between using a standard servo and a plus sized servo. Good engineering in my opinion, but not optimized for either size.

If someone could tell me what those springs are too, I'd like to look at replacement options. Thanks.

just put the m7990th on. I had the 5955tg stall on me last night at 7.4v so time to put the big gun on.

this is the grinding necessary to get the case holes to line up with the stock mount:

http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...ps3fzohwa5.jpg

do it from the top of the servo unless you want the collet chuck doing this to the heatsink:

I didn't notice any glitching from the magnetically encoded servo from being in close proximity to the motor as I had heard reported by someone before on the test run.

Chassis looks to be a y-town crawlers secret agent 3.5. I have a similar set up to what you are running.

Losi Front Shock Springs (3pr): Mini-T LOSB1117

should I get them too? or are they too short or something else?

Okay, I just saw where the fronts are shorter than the rears..

The chassis isn't a Secret Agent... It is a Nordic Crawler Design MOA Pro Comp chassis... It was one of Tomi's first chassis's that he produced..

I just bought some stuff from tomi. Now that I know that he made the chassis, I know where to get spares.

If your building this one for your girlfriend don't cry when she out drives you. Your rigs are coming along very nicely. Man you can toss an awesome rig together in a hurry with these axles. All the work is already done.
