| Travis C.'s Bully 2
So I've been getting a bit bored with the scalers lately and wanted a rig that would get my blood flowing again. I figured I'd give the RC4WD Bully axles a whirl and ordered some. Then it was time to decide on a chassis, which of course was an easy decision. I got on the horn to Rob B. (SMW) and a few days later a package from Mr. Robbob was waiting for me on the doorstep along with a box from RC4WD. I have to send a shout out to Roksloski for figuring out why my pics wouldn't transfer from P.B., Thank you Mike! Another shout out to Rob B for putting up with me, thanks Mr. Bizzle! Last but not least, winnerone23 (Troy) who spent an hour and a half of his Labor Day on the phone with me setting up my MT4 for dual ESCs. Thank you Troy! If you haven't figured out by now, I'm extremely computer handicapped and couldn't have done it without the help of these fine gentlemen. Servo installed, found this one for less than half price at A-Main's local store. I didn't like the amount of engagement with the stock hex pins so I made some, not the cleanest, but better than stock. Getting stuff assembled....... Made some upper link mounts, first time working with CF. And a servo mount for more clearance Clarance. That's all for now, suggestions and constructive criticism welcomed, thanks for looking! Hopefully soon, it's raining here right now. I hate the rain, but we need it in a bad way.

Got some foams, wheels, and haven't decided on tires yet. I have the tried and true Rovers, going to give the Bully pins a try, and waiting on a set of silver Voodoos from Purp. I also picked up a set of the J-Concept's Rover copies on an impulse buy. The compound seems good but they are a bit wide with all of the Sedona style side lugs so time to get out the 80 grit flap disc and make a big mess. They are six inches tall though. |

Picked up some RC4WD knuckle weights. Electronics mounted, still need to tidy things up a bit. |

Lookin good Travis! You made the right choice with the Voodoo silvers, I have been comping all season with them on my 2.2P and love them. Hey, those wheels look familiar...Lol |

Took it out to one of my favorite comp spots, the Oroville Fish Hatchery. I set a fairly difficult course and did a lot better than expected, still need to tune a few things though, only 5 packs on it so far. Pin tires and dual ESCs are new to me, never had either when I comped in '09-'10, I can definitely see why the pin style has cornered the market, quite impressive. Dual ESCs is pretty fawking cool too, it's going to take some more practice to get the hang of mixing, but I like it. Although the rig still needs some tuning, I was able to walk some lines that I never made with my circa 2010 Berg. I'm already very impressed with how far comp crawling has come in the last few years, the rigs are far more capable and it really got the blood flowing again! I only took a couple pics, I was having too much fun crawling. The salmon were heading up the ladder too! |

Here's some pics of how it currently sits. I still haven't hard wired the servo & BEC, using a Holmes adapter hoodilly. Suggestions welcomed! |

If this was Rob's truck he would completely tear it down and set it on the shelf at this point. Too many scratches on it now. Glad to see some CDW parts still around mixed with some newer ideas. You and Jake might be bringing me around to building myself another comp rig |

Yeah, I noticed in some areas they work better slower, shouldn't have any problems adjusting to that, I'm getting slower too. I like the SCX shocks, need to limit em a bit more though, too much Flex Bro! Thanks for all the help and intel Sloski! |

| Re: Travis C.'s Bully 2 Yeah, A-Main only had one pair left so I do need one pair for the front, I was going to see if you might have some spring collars laying around too. If I remember correctly, you were making skinny ones to keep the tires from adjusting the shocks a few years back. Have any of those left? Thanks again Mr. Bradshaw! I need to start my SMW savings account! |
