Also trying to build a better shock. This design is a two pcs, has an inner & outer shock body. There are holes in the inner body to control the flow of oil around the inside diameter of the outside body. This will be adjustable in the next set, but right now it has no holes in the piston, it just ride with the oil.

Mine weight in at 7grams, but I'll work on that.
And the second adjustable set will be tune able on the fly.

Scx10 stock weights 6grams.

Right! I can't wait to start testing them, maybe tomorrow or by the weekend.
And they're the same size as SCX10 shocks

Ok update on the inner wheel weights / carbon fiber beadlock rims
Got a lot of work done but still have some to do,
What's left nylon stand offs, aluminum hardware, lighting holes in the Carbon Fiber and finish the weight inserts themselves.
Tell me what you think!

Very nice!
So you will still have a true beadlock system right?

Nice work!! really nice to see someone actually pushing the design envelope and machining some of his own parts.

Yes it will be a true beadlock. I did a quick test w/voodoo pins and just three pan head screws held the front tire in place. Still have a lot of work and engineering to do, but the 1st design is working well.
Going to make a back beadlock as well, just much smaller on the ID CF ring

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the .
Hoping to get these a little more compact and lighter & still be able to run down to a 1/2 width.
Right now everything is 2mm CF, but I think I could use 1.5 & still contain enough strength.
The outer diameter is a little big right now, still has room for foam, but the next set will be smaller allowing for better tuning.
Right now there is 1/2 of foam in between the ring and the tire & a 1/4 on each side.
But when I'm done there should be over 3/4 in between & over 3/8 on the sides.

But the weights are really really low in the rim/tire.
Can't wait to some testing on the rocks.

I also have a similar design to that.
To mount the tires I just have 4 tabs/screws and you have 6 (or 3..).
I was cutting the lip of the tire to get over the tabs and make it a beadlock.

I replaced all of the inner foam in mine.
If I would go fast it would bottom out but in slow crawling it was fine.

Nice my 1st design made out of aluminum I had to cut the lip on the tire, but my last design in aluminum and these carbon fiber ones there is no need to cut the lip.

Ordered alloy pins from mc-master carr.
They should be here tomorrow.

Little update on the internal wheel weights
Super secret Ninja stuff going on here! LOL

Got the brass inserts made thinking I'm going to make a solid brass weight that sandwiches the carbon fiber might be easier to handle.
