Dig is ok..... but you really want dual esc and the ability to use front or back and the proportional control that a 4 channel TX allows.

First of welcome to the Bully 2 club
You picked a great starting platform.
You can check out my build thread or acouple of the other good drivers here like Samu,Jslick or Cboggs just to mention acouple on what we run but here is what i would go with -

ESC - Holmes Hobbies dual BR Mini's
Motor - Holmes Hobbies 30 or 35 turn motors / Brood
Servo - Either a Hitech 7950 or the Holmes Hobbies 500 servo
Castle BEC
Radio - Futaba 4PV or 4PLS both are super simple to set up.

i run a Nano 450mah battery

If you have any question please feel free to ask away

Just my 2 cents

I understand, it initially came down to cost, and the wife had to spend some money as well.

Thanks for the welcome .

How much run time are you getting with the 450s?

Thats a decent runtime for 450s. Do you notice any difference in performance or is it a personal preference?

Alot is personally preferences, I run that size cause it's nice and small doesn't add to much unwanted weight. To me it balances the front axle out, battery one side servo on the other.
Are you going to complete with it?

There are usually a couple local comps around here so I would like to compete. I'm not sure of the classes or rules for competitive crawling so I will have to look into that.

What are my options for electronic dig switches?

For now, just use the rc4wd dig switch. Then later on if you love the rig, want to comp and have the money, pick up a holmes dual esc.

Oroville Ca?
If so, I'm in Paradise, crawl the Fish Hatchery often, and run a Bully2. There aren't many comp guys around here, mostly scalers but I don't do facebook so I'm kind of out of the loop. I have a build thread on page two in the Bully section, feel free to hit me up for some crawling once this fawking rain is done!

That's what I did, when the rear channel burned out. It worked quite well for 20 packs, and I learned how good dig is.

Yes sir, I have crawled the hatchery a number of times with my old LNC. Bald rock is also pristine. I've wanted to crawl on the dam but I dont know how park rangers would feel about it. Might give it a shot with the bully. Shoot me a pm when you crawl the hatchery, my build should be complete next week.

Good thing you haven't crawled the dam, you probably would have been blamed for the giant hole in the spillway.

LOL

It looks like DWR is going to open the spillway and deal with the aftermath this summer.
