Default Is this why my rear axle was slipping?

(Bully 2 rear axle)
I noticed two bearings are destroyed here. I don't get how that could happen since it's all held in place in the housing. Anyway if I lock the front axle and just use the rear under any resistance it just slips. The gear mesh all looks fine though. Then I discover busted bearings. Wtf is with this thing? I've only used it in the backyard so far cuz I'm so busy, so not even one outing and it's destroying itself. For over a thousand Canadian dollars. I won't recommend this thing to anyone. Shipping is expensive and takes a long time. God dammit. Out of the 30 day warranty too.

Those small bearing are super prone to fail. They actually installed the wrong ones in mine so they failed early too. Looks like yours is extremely gone though. New gears and look into using a bushing there rather than a bearing. Thats how a lot of people fixed that problem. Mine was still under warranty though. If there is anything left of the inner and outer race of the bearing. I would measure it. If it was the wrong size maybe you can talk rc4wd into helping you out. Even though your out of warranty. Worth a try.

Okay thanks. I've never used bushings before, do I simply measure the bearing and find a bushing that matches it?

Stock bearings are garbage, upgrade to better bearings.

FYI, that small bearing is 5x9x3. Look for a bushing in that size.

RC4WD sells a bearing upgrade kit for the Bully II, is it any good? Or would Fast Eddy's be better? I haven't even run mine yet, so I figure if this is going to happen may as well add replace bearings to the 'to do' list.

Yeah I have Fast Eddy's in two of my scalers. Its $68.00 to do both B2 axles with Fast Eddy's .. I guess I was cheaping out and hoping RC4WD's $25.00 complete kit would do the job by some miracle lol.

Fast eddy needs to be update there site, kinda confusing but you only need one. It does both axles.

Just wanted to update and give credit to rc4wd for shipping me replacement bearings even though I was past the 30 days warranty. I'm gonna look into bushings still but glad they helped me out.

I just ran my Bully 2 for the first time last night and figured it must have a slipper clutch loose or something. Its a bit odd to hear the slipping was caused by the bearings.

This morning I was taking apart the axle to inspect it and replace bearings and I really couldn't see the offending bearings. Before I do the rear I'll try to take a closer look but I'm hoping someone might be able to describe what bearing I'm looking for (out of curiosity) though I will be replacing all of the bearings with a fast eddy kit.

EDIT: I did some more digging and found this post

Sorry to quote so much but this thread comes up in a search first so I figured it'd help others to compile this here
