| Brand new to the crawler world, recommendations?
After stumbling across some crawler videos online I decided to build my first crawler and decided on the RC4WD Bully 2. I love to build so purchased the kit and been doing a lot of reading on electronics recommendation. I will not be doing any competitions so looking for a good setup that will not break the bank. I hear great things about the HH br mini dual but they are not available. Can I do 2 individual br minis? I've narrowed it down to 2 HW 1080 escs and Tekin T45 HD motors. HH SHV500V3 SERVO. I have no radio but read about the hacked Flysky GT3. Let me know what you think and recommendations. I am looking forward to this build.

Dlux Fab has some BR mini duals in stock https://dluxfab.ecwid.com/In-House-B...als-p370559088 BR mini duals are just 2 BR minis so you could DIY it, Holmes sells a stacker as well https://holmeshobbies.com/electronic...i-stacker.html Individual BR minis will require 2 batteries which isnt something I'd really recommend. The benefit of combining them is being able to share the same battery. Personally I prefer 5 slot motors over 3 slots, they have a little less torque potentially but have a better low speed feel. I usually go for the HH crawlmaster motors, they come at 3 different price levels. I'd also recommend 2 of these guards once they're available again https://holmeshobbies.com/motors/par...tor-sav-r.html Last edited by HumboldtEF; 07-29-2021 at 07:48 PM. |

I’ve been out of the hobby for awhile, but I put 35t 3 slot brushed motors on my Axial XR10. You recommended HH Crawlmaster motors, but they’re all in the 12-20t range. Isn’t that a little much speed for a MOA?

A 5 slot 12t motor is the equivelant of a 35t (3 slot) motor and a 5 slot 10t motor is equivelant to a 30t (3 slot motor). Holmes has a handy info sheet on motor speeds, thinking about KV rating is a better way of comparing motors IMO. https://holmeshobbies.com/motor-recommendations Last edited by HumboldtEF; 02-23-2022 at 03:18 PM. | |
